"Let's take a look back, both in time and
to the foundation of our music. So if you would, just sit back relax, and
imagine yourselves a long time ago. Somewhere on the plains or the praries of
the Old West.
And to set the mood, we'll start with the
sound of crickets in the background and a dark blue sky up above, and a full
moon that shines through the trees.
Now we need a place to gather around some
close friends for some good country entertainment. We could think of nothing
better than a campfire.
Well we tried to set the mood, but the main
part is still missing, that is the music. So we get the chance see where it all
starts, with the songwriter. This evening we are proud to present a couple of
songwriting cowboys, please say hello to the writer of The American Honkey Tonk
Bar Association, and The Old Stuff, its Bryan "Chuckwagon" Kennedy.
And how 'bout a warm welcome for the writer of Fever, and Beaches of Cheyenne,
its Dan "Rodeo" Roberts."
Garth's opening act is very unique. It's a couple of his songwriting friends,
Bryan Kennedy and Dan Roberts, that get up on stage and play acoustic for about
25 to 30 minutes. They are normally joined by Garth's lead guitar player,
James "BAM" Garver. If you get the chance to go to a GB concert be
sure to get there early cause these guys are much better than a regular opening
act.
Chuck and Rodeo switch the songs from night to night always giving you
something different, Two of their tunes, Copenhagen and My New Tony Lamas are
the most common, and definitely get the most reaction from the crowd. The lyrics
to these songs are now available here at Planet Garth.
