If you're posting in our message boards, classified ads, private messaging, or other interactive section, you agree to follow PlanetGarth.com's Association Guidelines.
Feel free to be open, opinionated and honest, however please abide by the following guidelines which detail behavior that is unacceptable at Planet Garth. Any violation of these guidelines may result in one or multiple warnings, suspension, or permanent loss of membership.
Please keep in mind that if a post gets deleted, all responses to that post get deleted along with it.

- Make libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, threatening, abusive or harassing comments. See Vulgarity.
- Post off-topic information: Each Forum has a specific theme. Post your topics accordingly.
(Ex: Garth related threads go in the Main Forum; Alan Jackson or Cyndi Thomson threads go in the Other Artists Forum and so on. If you have a question about where your thread should go, contact a Moderator.) .
- Post advertisements or solicitations of services or goods. See Solicitation.
- Post with multiple user names.
- Impersonate anyone (another user, an artist, a celebrity, etc.) .
- Post entire articles; small excerpts are fine, followed by a link to the credited source and article.
- Post unauthorized copyrighted material, or the location to such materials. Such as a URL to an MP3.
- Post personal information (yours or anyone else's), including, but not limited to, addresses and phone numbers.
- Flood (spam) a message board with repetitive posts.
- Post chain letters.
- Use language or make statements that endorse drug abuse, alcohol abuse, or illegal activities.

Additional Information
Harassment: Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, or denigrates another member (including Moderators and Forum Administrators) at any time. Even though we realize that discussions can get intense, taking an argument about a topic to a personal level is not allowed. Repeated critical, condescending and/or sarcastic posts toward Forum members can also constitute harassment. Anyone that harasses a fellow PG member because of a situation that originated on PG,
by way of personal email, IM, or any other means, will be considered in violation of our guidelines.
Disruption: Posts that intentionally disrupt the topic of conversation or steer the topic away from the focus of the Forum and related news are prohibited. Disruption can include (but is not limited to) harassment, multiple posting of the same post (spam) and posting completely off-topic messages. There are people who can disrupt the community by purposely drawing attention to themselves, whether by posting controversial messages, childish or non-intelligent messages, or “pushing other people’s buttons” just to get a response. These people exist in every online community, every chat room, and on every bulletin board on the Internet. They push the envelope of what they can get away with. We have a zero tolerance policy against these types of disruptive individuals.
Vulgarity and Sexual Explicitness: As a community with a large audience of members and readers, we ask that our members post without using vulgarity. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable as is vulgarity in usernames and profiles. We realize that there's a "gray area" of judgment with vulgarity, but we ask that you respect others by avoiding it altogether. The Forum staff will determine what constitutes vulgarity or other offensive remarks and take appropriate action.
Solicitation:Using Planet Garth to advertise your website, items for sale, commercial services, etc, is strictly prohibited. Unless previous permission has been granted from the Planet Garth Editor, items for sale can only be advertised in the
PG Tradin Post.
Moderator’s Role in Enforcing the Guidelines...
If a Moderator deems necessary, posts will be edited for content, moved to proper forums, or removed entirely
at any time and
without personal notification to you. If you have a question about the removal or editing of a post, please post a new thread in the
Post Deletion/Editing Questions forum. This is the ONLY remedy for post deletions, moves, or edits by a Moderator or Administrator.
Your request will be reviewed by Moderators and Administrators. If the Moderators and Administrators believe that a response is appropriate, you will be notified in the thread you post. Please note that decisions of Administrators and Moderators are final.
If repeated action is required to moderate a member's activity, future removals and/or edits may also include a warning issued by a Moderator. If this warning is ignored, the Moderators will refer the matter to a Administrator, and the member will have his or her posting privileges temporarily or permanently suspended (duration determined by the nature of the offense).
NOTE: Depending on the nature and severity of an offense, a permanent suspension can take place at any time. Such as taunting, harassing or attacking a Moderator or Forum Administrator.
Any posts that question disciplinary or editorial actions by the Forum staff (as well as posts that attack, put down, or slander PlanetGarth) will be removed without notification.
Please be aware that Moderators volunteer their spare time and energy to help keep the peace on the Forums at PG. They are regular members as well. Being a Moderator does not remove them from the position of being a fan. A Moderator can participate in any discussion, and have opinions like anyone else. Do not be offended if a Moderator has a different opinion about a topic than you do. Their opinions do not constitute official PG policy, however as stated above, their actions while enforcing PG Forum policies are final.
Finally…
This is not a comprehensive list, as it is impossible to document and regulate every possible situation that can occur in a dynamic environment such as an online community. We will continue to update the guidelines as needed.
If you have any questions about our guidelines as they apply to specific matters, or you would like to see a particular issue addressed, you can always ask a Moderator. Note that if you would like to express a concern about the judgment and enforcement of the guidelines by any particular Moderator, please contact a Forum Administrator.
As always, feel free to contact us with questions or comments via
email, or by posting in
PG’s Comments and Suggestions Forum.
Thank you for reading our Association Guidelines. Now, we invite you to join us at PlanetGarth.com!
