Trisha Yearwood and Susan Ashton to provide harmony vocals at Garth Brooks Irish concerts

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--May 5, 1997--Capitol Nashville recording artist Garth Brooks is bringing some friends along to entertain at his three sold-out Irish concerts (May 16-18). MCA Records/Nashville's Trisha Yearwood and Sparrow Records' Susan Ashton will join Brooks as harmony vocalists at Dublin's premiere outdoor venue, Croke Park. Over 40,000 tickets have been sold for each night. The three shows will be filmed for a television special to be aired next year.
Yearwood, whose hits include "She's In Love With The Boy," "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" and "Walkaway Joe" among others, has worked with Brooks many times in the past. In addition to singing background vocals on all of his albums, Yearwood was the opening act of Brooks' 1991 tour. "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart," co-written by Brooks, was Yearwood's second hit single.
Ashton, one of Contemporary Christian Music's leading vocalists, was the opening act for the second leg of Brooks' European Tour in 1994. She also provided background vocals on Brooks' hit "She's Every Woman," and performed with him on both "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and "The Today Show." Her current album is titled A Distant Call.
