Garth Brooks "The Hits" The fastest selling Diamond in Canadian history

TORONTO, Dec. 13 - While in Toronto promoting his fantastic new album FRESH HORSES, GARTH BROOKS paid a visit to EMI Canada's warehouse to meet the staff, sign a multitude of autographs and gather up his Christmas presents!
GARTH was presented with DIAMOND for THE HITS, his greatest hits package which is the fastest selling record to reach DIAMOND status (1 million units sold), as well as triple platinum for his latest release FRESH HORSES. This album has only been out for 3 weeks!
GARTH was also presented with the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) Award for TOP SELLING ARTIST; this is the 2nd time that GARTH has won this award. His album sales in Canada total 3.3 million!!!!!
Deane Cameron, President of EMI Music Canada, presented GARTH with a beautiful soapstone sculpture of a polar bear by famed Inuit carver Tommy Tokpanie Sr.
Since FRESH HORSES release on November 21st, GARTH has also made stops in Calgary and Montreal (his 1st visit!) to meet the fans and the media.
Expect Canadian shows from GARTH in the summer/fall of '96!
