Garth, Whoopi To Make TV Movie
Thursday, January 18, 2001. Associated Press

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Whoopi Goldberg and Garth Brooks will get together to spread some Christmas cheer this year with a television movie on Turner Network Television.

``Call Me Claus'' will premiere in December and be released to video stores nine days later. TNT announced the project Tuesday.

Goldberg and Brooks are co-executive producers. The country singer will contribute music to the project, but is not expected to act in it.

Goldberg will play a producer at a home shopping network who hires an actor to play Santa Claus and gets more than she bargained for.

Also set to star in the two-hour movie are Sir Nigel Hawthorne, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Victor Garber.
