Garth Teams Up With Colorado Rockies
Monday, May 22, 2000 11:40:00 AM
DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies and the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation, in conjunction with the Rockies Charity Fund, will team up with the Garth Brooks Touch 'em All Foundation to host the Rox second annual fundraiser, An Evening of Stars and Fireworks, Thursday, June 8 at Coors Field.

The direction of the event is to create awareness of youth and school violence while also raising community and monetary support to benefit regional programs dealing with such prevention. All proceeds from ticket sales to the event along with funds raised from a silent auction of autographed sports memorabilia will be granted to local area non-profit organizations which address the cause (ie: The Conflict Center's school program, The Colorado Lawyers' Committee for Violence Prevention and Colorado Uplift). The Rockies raised nearly $300,000 after being enhanced by funds from the McCormick Tribune Foundation to benefit the above-mentioned not-for profit organizations during the 1999 event.

Garth Goes Bowling In Hollywood
Thursday, May 18, 2000 9:55:00 AM
Garth Brooks will enjoy a splendid homecoming at the Hollywood Bowl June 23, 2000. Brooks and famed movie composer/orchestra conductor John Williams have been named the first inductees into the Bowl's Hall of Fame and will be the focus of the June 23 musical extravaganza.

Six years ago, Brooks stood a sold-out Bowl on its ear with a virtuoso performance accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Some 18,000 fans had the rare treat that evening of hearing him sing "The Dance" and "The Thunder Rolls" with full orchestra. --countrycool.com

Austin City Limits, Pt. 2
Monday, May 15, 2000 5:04:00 PM
If you need a Garth "fix" you can catch him again in June on Austin City Limits. Watch for a second helping of Garth on Austin City Limits during the week of June 10. The PBS concert series filmed more than an hour of performance footage when Garth taped the show last year, and wasn't able to show all of it. This second installment features both Garth and Chris Gaines material, with only one song that appeared in the February show repeated in the June show. Airtimes vary on PBS, so check local listings for exact time and date. --- countrystars.com
