Garth Gears Up For New Film Projects

According to Launch.com, Garth Brooks and partner Lisa Sanderson of Red Strokes Entertainment have reeled in two projects at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles -- The Lamb, where Brooks has reportedly signed on to portray the Chris Gaines character that he launched via soundtrack last year, in addition to a one-hour dramatic series. The pair also have a sitcom working at Imagine.
Brooks will also perform at the New Millennium Ball, A Tribute To Healing, this Thursday (March 23) in Los Angeles at the Twentieth Century Fox studios. Tickets for the event start at $1,000.

Garth Brooks a big hit with Mets, fans

No. 1 in New York Mets black and the fans' hearts walked up to the plate to lead off the last of the ninth against the Baltimore Orioles yesterday afternoon, and between all the cheering and "Tearin' it Up (And Burning it Down)" from the player's own Double Live album blaring over the stadium sound system, there was no need for an introduction.
The fans pressed up against the wire fence knew this wasn't just one of the guys. Take the three women friends dressed in the white "PROUD MEMBER PLANETGARTH.COM" T-shirts with "BROOKS 1" on the back. They had met through the web site, and here they were together to catch a glimpse of their favorite singer. Jennifer Goldstein, a 21-year-old student from Marlton, N.J., had her video camera fixed on the real No. 1.

Brooks, who was scheduled to return to Nashville, Tenn., after the game, finished spring training 0-for-17, leaving him with an .026 career spring average. Brooks was 1-for-22 (.045) last spring with the San Diego Padres.

Garth Brooks, a non-roster invitee with the New York Mets this spring, was scratched from last Sunday's exhibition game against the Los Angeles Dodgers because of a bruised left foot.
