Dennis Quaid: rock star?

We know Dennis as the Dad in Frequency. But what is this all about from http://www.undercover.com.au/20020424_dennisquaid.html ?
Quote:
Dennis Quaid has joined the ranks of Keanu Reeves and Russell Crowe with the title Rock Star.

Quaid will be taking his band Dennis Quaid and the Sharks opening night at the fourth annual EAT'M convention on Thursday, May 29.

EAT'M, the Emerging Artists and Technology in Music is a conference, showcase and festival which bridges the gap of educational trends and ideas between artists and professionals in the entertainment industry. EAT'M is attended and supported by industry professionals that represent all facets of the music business including labels, producers, managers, attorneys, technology, agents, promoters, songwriters, publishers and more. EAT'M is also a showcase opportunity for some of the best, unsigned talent around the world, with all formats of music welcomed.

The conference in Vegas will features this year's honorees multi-Academy Award winning composer Elmer Bernstein (who will be celebrating his 80th birthday at EAT'M) and Fleetwood Mac's MICK FLEETWOOD, who will also be moderating two mentor sessions at EAT'M about technologies he's using and developing for music producers, artists and songwriters. In addition, Mick will be doing a 30-minute "Industry Perspective," inclusive of Q&A.

Dennis Quaid and The Sharks will play the Party at the oh-so-fabulous Whiskey Sky Bar.

I mean, that probably hi and his band will play for the fun of it, but not to make a career out of it. It will be like the Keanu band, it can be very well known in his area, but no one else know their music.

Nothing against dfennis, he's cool, but unless he is thinking in become a singer, I don't think we will ever be able to listen to his music
