He'll accept the award Monday at Shea for Mets home opener....
I found this in todays paper and thought you all would like to know.
He worked very hard this spring to get better at the game and he deserves this award.
We're proud of you Garth!
~ Val ~
N

WOW!! This is amazing!! :o Garth getting an award for his hard work. But I am worried if other rookies might get jealous of Garth's award though.... oh well, it's the organization's decision anyway ;)

TommyN

I hoping that they show him getting the award on TV. Either before the game starts or a news snipet in between innings, which they do sometimes.
Keep your fingers crossed girls maybe we'll get our wish.
~ Val ~N

Is that best Met's rookie? Didn't Garth go 0-17? Well I find it hard to believe that there "best" rookie didn't make the cut.N

    Val and Cheryl,
I read a press release that said you were both supposed to present Garth with his award. But they found out your evil plans to superglue yourselves and Garth to the award, so that he would have to take you home and put you in his den !!! Good try anyway *LOL* :) AnaN

    WHY????????
I bet the other rookies was better than him and deserved it more!
In a way this is just as lame as when they gave Mariah Carey the award for artist of the decade.
BrianN

Wooooohooooo! :) Garth may not have been the best rookie in terms of stats, but as far as work ethic, dedication, and effort.....nobody beats the man in those catagories. :) I think it's really cool that the Mets see those qualities as deserving of this award. After all, isn't that what sports are "supposed" to be about????N
