I am so looking forward to having this song in my collection.

Besides playing it at the Notre Dame concert, has he said that he's going to release this?

That was an awesome opening segment. Can you imagine being in studio with him when he is recording. Just feeling the intensity he puts into it all.

It's great to have confirmation that this fantastic song made "Fun." I was bummed when it didn't make "Gunslinger" and worried when Garth said "Courage of Love" and "Stronger Than Me" would be the only ballads on the new record, but apparently he forgot about this one!

Having said that, hopefully the final take of the song is not the one used in the A&E episode, because Garth was sounding a bit rough there, haha.

I don't know if it's to prevent long-term throat damage (I.E. Lemmy from Motorhead) but he might want to think about lowering the studio mic down a few inches.

If I had to guess based on my own experience recording music, I would say it’s probably set up there in order to bring out Garth’s treble tones and lessen the bass tones somewhat. I record with a mic stand instead of overhead, but if you set the microphone height so that it’s just below your mouth, you can angle it up slightly to bring out the treble tones or angle it down slightly to accentuate the bass.

so I know the song has only been out as long as the special has been released...

but I couldn’t help but take a shot at covering it..

    Here’s a verse and chorus:

No disrespect to Garth, but your version is better than his on the special. Good job

Hey there Jim- I couldn't respond earlier as I have been overwhelmed with stuff to be doing for my kiddos this week. you ROCKED that song (a normal occurrence!) honestly I didn't like the song when I heard it at the ND show (if it's the same one he sang there and I think it is) but I gotta tell you- hearing you sing it? yeah- now I wanna hear it.. GREAT JOB man... I agree with Scarecrow- I think yours is better than what I heard Garth sing!
An objective Garth fan, with my own views...

    I have a purpose
    Made in His image
    Accepted by Him
    Given new life in Christ
    Eternity with Him

My collection of all things Garth....
