Pretty epic. Guess You Had To Be There and It Don’t Matter to the Sun were highlights for me.

ok, while I laugh at CNN saying they 'called the concert inside studio G' (kinda showing a lack of prep on the reporters behalf maybe?

this was a cool story.. 3.4 million people? no wonder it kept crashing

I was disappointed initially with the performance because I was looking forward to seeing a verse from song after song of album cuts like he mentioned he would do the week before. I wasn't looking forward to 50% Trisha. But as it continued, I fell in love with it because you just can't beat Garth with only a guitar, even if he's just playing it sometimes.

Saying that, I am constantly amazed at Garth's guitar skills. I'm sure all of these artists are just as great as he is. Heck, even Trisha did well on the song she played the guitar on. I sometimes play the guitar for fun when in the mood. But I have to have the music in front of me to know what chords are being played. Though he's played all of the songs before, it's amazing to watch him figure out what chord comes next as he's playing the song. It's flawless. And being able to strum or pick the songs just right is amazing to me.

This may not matter to many, especially if you can pick up an instrument and play by ear. But being guitar playing challenge gives me an appreciation for how he does what he does!

You could tell it was a “Garth” song. Does anyone know if it’s been recorded by anyone? If I recall correctly, Trisha said it was a “demo” she sang on?

Hey there all.. feeling the need to be a bit positive for people tonight- the isolations' a bit much, its' just been kinda a bummer type of day (nothing wrong, just feels like a bummer kinda day..)

I was able to break up the audio of the show from last night into tracks, and have a text tracklist as well as cover art.. if interested.. I'll keep it up at least until tomorrow morning... not illegal file sharing here, just something I recorded for myself audio wise and wanted to share... Be good to each other guys...

but if you want us all to believe it is spontaneous you likely shouldn't magically put the capo on the correct fret before asking if there have been any duet requests.
I wasn’t expecting it to be spontaneous at all for two reasons. They asked for song requests a few days before the show, and Trisha said (during her Saturday morning live Facebook chat) that they had received a lot of requests and that she and Garth would be rehearsing all weekend.

But he did try to play it off as spontaneous. I also don’t really care how spontaneous it is - as long as we don’t lose the authenticity.

Anybody know the song he was singing at the start of ISG tonight? I’ve tried looking it up by lyrics but no luck.

    Inside Studio G

    clocked in at 25m 02s

    CBS

Network heard about the Inside Studio G Show

    Wed. @ 9pm eastern
Taking Inside Studio G to the network for one night only

The stillness of Trisha doing Amazing Grace was the biggest part of the night for Garth

    Tour

Charlotte and Cincy- postponed to 6/13 and 6/27 respectively. They will be taking precautions, will be more clean, etc.

    Gershwin

Talked about TY and singing the change.

    Watching others sing his songs
Fav. Part of the whole night was his daughters all there in the same place.

People calling in, saying ‘we needed this’.. Garth was saying he needed it too.

    - plays a snippet of James Taylor song

Garth’s safe spot is James Taylor’s music

    Ask Garth

how did it feel to be in the audience (the Gershwin prize) for a Garth Brooks concert?

I was worn out! Worn out last night just watching it!

    Ask Garth
Can you walk through the steps of creating a custom GB production like this? Do you write the show and setlist and talk to guys to create the lighting/sound?

On things like this, a guy named Tim Swift comes in . “If we can get this guy to sing this, and…..” Give a list of songs they would like to cover, and then ask your opinion

Talking about the moment on Gershwin show where all the cell phones were out (laughs at the ‘warning not to have phones’)

    Ask Garth

would you ever release all your video footage digitally? On Amazon for example? I have every DVD not no dvd player- millennial problems

Amazon has all the rights to the video material, trying ot put something together, but have been trying to since they’ve had their deal. So right now it kinda sits in the vault. Was king of odd, did the Inside Studio G concert and started with one night a day, showed old footage on the Gershwin show- looked amazing.. Will be sometime that we do it, will get with Ryan at amazon and see what we can come up with

Ask Garth (VIDEO). request for ‘love always wins’

I’D BE WILLING TO BET THAT THAT SONG IS PLAYED TOMORROW NIGHT ON THE SHOW!!

    CBS

Al by request ( sure it is, Garth….. sure it is…)
CBS people won’t get lists (they were wanting song lists, etc.. for show)

    Ask Garth

Loved the shallow duet. You said it would be ‘fun’ to take that to the studio. Interesting word- I think there’s time to get it on there….

    Doesn’t really answer

    Ask Garth
Comment about Amazing Grace and TY singing.

Seeing a lot of requests for Alabama Clay
    - plays a snippet of Alabama clay, and forgets some of the lyrics/messes up must. times…. Mentions he’d have to rehearse that one if they do it tomorrow

    Ask Garth
Have you ever considered recording a cover of a Chris LeDoux song? Have you ever performed any live during housekeeping?

    - Garth bypasses the question..

    - getting a lot of requests as well for MOM, ITNC, and The Cowboy song…

Talks about video requests for tomorrow nights show….

FB can’t do it while CBS does the show. Come on early? Maybe have a FB “pre party”

Sends messages out to medical people working in hospitals ,etc.

    GOODBYES

CBS wants the ‘pre party’ on FB.. maybe going on 8-815 eastern

    GOODBYES (again)

Because of CBS special Best Buy is extending their sale of Garth Vinyl through April 16th.

Will never see this package again
    - will see what the future holds . Garth loved the vinyl package (* he’s talking about it in the past tense, like it’s finally been left in the past…. Maybe on to new stuff soon that’s ‘FUN’. ??

GOODBYES (yet again- for real this time…)

********* It’s almost 1230am on Wed. Right now MDT…. I apologize if there are multiple typos in this recap- I’m honestly too tired to correct them right now but didn’t want to lose more time than I already have in getting this up on the site
