Why does he always play old stuff? Would have been a good chance to play something new

he was doing this to support legacy... maybe that's why he played a classic?

Because that's what most people want to hear and like Charles said it was promoting Legacy so it makes sense.

He may have chosen that song because Ellen was born and grew up in Louisiana.

That was my first question too- Why , Why, WHY continue to play old stuff when he has an appearance like this- would be a good time to play Dive Bar actually, though that would contradict his 'play it live first on TV' statement about playing it w/ Blake on the CMA's.. Still, Ellen's taped so it COULD have been done.

However, I do agree w/ some comments below- He's there promoting Legacy.. Legacys all about the old stuff. Garth's all about 'the old stuff'. So it makes sense he'd play 'the old stuff'..

Calling Baton Rouge... Hey, at least he didn't roll out FILP again or Two of a Kind again... or Even (I know, forgive me- this is my favorite song after all ) The Dance again
