Once again, if you're outside of the States, sucks to be you. I'm getting sick of that quickly.

Time will tell if the information included in the Item Details on Target's website where you order the boxed set is correct or not, particularly since there's a couple of misspellings of artists who sang on the 25th anniversary recording of FILP, but this is what it said about a limited first edition cover:
Gunslinger 2016 album with all new songs featuring the limited first edition cover art and 25th anniversary edition of Friends in Low Places (with George Straight, Jason Aldean, Flordia/Georgia Line and Keith Urban on guitar)

We saw the photos from those covers being taken during one Garth's first Facebook videos. I always wondered what that photoshoot was for.

I saw his stuff in store, they had them on specially marked SEVENS hangers! I think the Anthems shirt is also Cinch.

So Cowboy's Forever was left off the CB cd but "My Baby No Esta Aqui" is on it?

That's 20 songs right there. Would have been a good spot for New York State of Mind, American Pie, and FILP25 too.
hmm- was thinking about this a bit ago... it's possible that the reason he didn't have a 'duets' disc was due to licensing/label issues.. I get the feeling he didn't exactly leave capitol on the best of terms when he retired( though I could be wrong).. Chris Ledoux was a capitol artist. I THINK Steve Wariner was too, at least at the times that burning the road house down and katie wants a fast one were released.. TY, while now a part of Garth as it were, is/was an artist w/ label control over other songs, correct?

Longneck Bottle wasn't billed as a duet to my knowledge, etc..

Hard luck woman, while sung originally on a kiss tribute album (Kiss My A@@ was the title)... wasn't a duet... he performed it with KISS on the Tonight show with Jay Leno, but even then they were just backup to Garth's vocals...

I'm still anxiously awaiting the boxed set.. but I'm def. understanding the 'underwhelmed' and somewhat toned down/negative vibes some are giving off...

I'm not underwhelmed per se. There are things I would change if I had been in charge of culling together the collections, and I wish he hadn't used so many of the BIAOMR tracks, but at the end of the day this isn't that far off from what I expected, so I'm a happy camper overall.

Is there a reason Garth left The Thunder Rolls of the The Road album?

That's very true, I hope FGL is relegated to singing just on the chorus tho, let the Kings of Country handle the verses.

Oh sorry to threadcrap but has George's version of Much Too Young leaked in full? He sounds awesome on this video

I just pre-ordered to get the Christmas cd too. I am actually excited by the sequencing and I suss this one will end up with me on road trips!

Has anyone sorted out the shipping issue? Is express shipping free on the box set?

Yeah, I'm confused about this. I selected "Express shipping" but it didn't add anything to the final cost and I'm supposedly getting it on the 11th.

I didn't see express shipping until I added it to my shopping cart. Says it will arrive on or before the 11th!

It's really cool they are bundling the Christmas album with the box.

I decided to pre-order anyway since I found the express shipping option was still free. $32 for all of that charged today, not a bad deal at all.

If you look at the box set description, it says the following about Gunslinger:

"Gunslinger – 2016 album with all new songs featuring the limited first edition cover art and 25th anniversary edition of Friends in Low Places (with George Straight, Jason Aldean, Flordia/Georgia Line and Keith Urban on guitar)"

There you have it! We are getting the limited edition cover with the box. The only way I'll buy a separate copy now, is if the stand alone Target edition contains different bonus tracks.

Target chat claims that pre-orders don't offer express so if you choose it your only getting standard thats why the shipping price isn't changing

No one had said anything about the 2000 version of Wild Horses, wish he had that and 'did I open my eyes' or even 'you've got to hold on to your woman' by Chris gaines
'All the way to Tacoma, by then I hope you're out of my mind.'

Target's product pages say that you should get the item on or shortly after the 11th. Anyone preorder from Target before? How good are they about getting things out on release day? Amazon is pretty good. I've pre-ordered well over 100 items from them and all but once they had the item to me on release day. Best Buy is actually great. I almost always get pre-orders from them a day early. But I've never pre-ordered from Target.

I really won't have time that day to sit around and wait for the mail, so I'm just showing up at 8am that morning and just getting my copies in store. But I'll be super jealous if all you people who are having them shipped to you get them on the 10th.

I chatted with Target, too and they assured me the package will arrive on 11/11 with the express shipping selected.
