Garth - Free Concert in Nashville at Ascend Amphitheater on October 24

Anybody else lucky enough to get tickets?

I lucked up and got 2 last night for my wife and I.

Reports are it won't be the World Tour setup, but Garth and his band.

    I can't freakin wait!

I tried last night but didn't get them. I got the code and all but never offered tickets.

I read somewhere that he is only going to play 7 songs, 1 from each album that went diamond. Does Angkor have any other information about this show? I find it hard to believe that they would make a big deal about this show and setup screens in the park etc... just for 7 songs.

This was from the Taste of Country http://tasteofcountry.com/garth-broo...ville-concert/ website talking about the show....

Fans can expect a show unlike any other, Brooks tells Taste of Country. He’ll play seven songs acoustic, one from each of the seven diamond albums. Trisha Yearwood is likely to be the only collaborator, although Brooks admits that once the show begins, all the rules and regulations of the show are likely to be broken.
I think they'll start with the 7 songs, but we all know Garth doesn't half-a$$ anything. My guess is he tells some personal stories about the songs, and he ends up on stage for 2-3 hours.

    What do y'all think?

So if Garth really sticks to 7 acoustic songs for the Seven Diamonds - what do you think he will play? It gets tricky since 3 of the 7 are essentially greatest hits albums. My guesses...

    Garth Brooks -The Dance
No Fences - Friends in Low Places
Ropin' The Wind - The River
    The Hits - Thunder Rolls
    Sevens - Two Pina Coladas
Double Live - Callin' Baton Rouge
    The Ultimate Hits - Shameless

Ropin the Wind - The River
The Hits - Friends in Low Places
    Sevens - Two Pina Coladas
    Double Live - Thunder Rolls
Ultimate Hits - More Than a Memory

For those of us FAR from Tennessee...is this event being broadcast anywhere?

I understand it's kind of a party in Garth's honor as well as an opportunity for fans to see him.

good questions... Hmm. will have to record the Garth channel tomorrow just in case- when is the concert supposed to happen?

re: the songs? here's my thought(s) for what it's worth

    GB - The Dance
    NF - FILP
    RTW - The River
    TH - UAP
    7s - 2PC
DL - this one's tough.. probably TTR
    TUH - MTAM probably.

I'd love to see calling baton rouge, but that one is one where he 'cranks it up' as it were.. don't know how well it'd play in the acoustic only type of setting..

if it's just Garth and his guitar... gotta pick ones that are great in 'acoustic only' settings after all..

could be fun.. w'ere at what, 3 weeks away from boxed set too?

The Tennessee Snapchat shared a lot of great clips from the show! Several guests sang with Garth including Reba, Chris Young, Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. Looks like it was a fun show!

Sorry it took me so long to respond!! I was fortunate enough to go to this show! It was actually kinda short by Garth standards which surprised me..
Garth did half versions of some of his biggest hits. He'd stop after the 1st chorus of Unanswered prayers, or go straight to the last chorus after he sang the 1st verse of "If Tomorrow Never Comes." That being said it was like no other Garth show I'd ever seen!!! It was a real treat to here the duets, collaborations, and tributes. Everyone in attendance received a commemorative card stock poster as a souvenir as well! (i went home with two of them haha)

    To honor "Garth Brooks"
-Reba did "Not Counting You" w/o Garth. to honor "Garth Brooks"
-Garth did "The Dance" on acoustic.

    No Fences:
Garth did "The Thunder Rolls" and "Friends In Low Places" on acoustic.

    Ropin' The Wind:
-Chris Young did "The River" with Garth to honor "Ropin' The Wind"
-Garth did "Papa Loved Mama" on acoustic

    Double Live:
-Steve Wariner did "Longneck Bottle" with Garth.
-Garth did "Unanswered Prayers" on acoustic

    Ultimate Hits:
-Kelly Clarkson did a soulful version of "We Shall Be Free"
-Garth did "If Tomorrow Never Comes" on acoustic

    The Hits:
-Jason Aldean did "Much Too Young" with Garth and Jimmy on Fiddle.
-Garth and Jimmy did "Callin' Baton Rogue" ON ACOUSTIC!!!! First time hearing that song this way! Was really special hearing this.

    Sevens:
-Garth and Trisha did a duet on "In Anothers Eyes"
-Garth did "Two Pina Coladas" on acoustic.

Kelly Clarkson convinced Steve Wariner to come out and do "The Weekend" (Steve's song not the one from Gunslinger lol)
Garth convinced Trisha to sing "Walkaway Joe" (surprise, surprise haha)

Jack Daniel's presented Garth with a commemorative barrel of "Old No. 7" to honor his 7 diamonds.
and RIAA came out and presented Garth with his 7th Diamond as the previous 6 sat on the podium...Chills...

It was incredible to be a part of the night as the weather was perfect. For those like me who love Garth and an acoustic...it was a dream to here some of his greatest hits just on acoustic... Callin' Baton Rogue blew me away.

Hope this gives everyone at PG a sense of the show.
