Sugarcane and Whiskey to Wine were rumored songs for MAM. Glad to see that they have both resurfaced again here. It also appears that Sugarcane is the standard edition's closer, since Cowboys and Friends and FILP25 are Target exclusives. Can't wait to hear which is Garth's actual favorite.

Bang! Bang! sounds interesting, and could be the pseudo album title track.

So excited for this album. 11 songs + FILP25 feels short, but whatever. Maybe more songs will be on the stand-alone Target edition.

Man they really sound like fun songs, going to be a blast playing it, since its our summer time here, when he releases it here.

    Some stray observations...

    - I'm surprised it's only 11 tracks. I really thought 14 was the new standard, what with Garth's obsession with the number 7, and the fact that the last three albums (including the 2014/2016 version of "Scarecrow") all had 14.

    - Disappointed that "Live Again" didn't make the cut. Here's hoping it surfaces as a bonus track on the standalone version of "Gunslinger," and if not that then the next album.

    - I really don't like when artists put re-recordings of old hits on new albums, as I feel they mess with the record's flow. I'm predicting we'll get this new version of "FILP" plus one or two other bonus tracks on the 25th anniversary edition of "No Fences."

    According to the press release:
The Target boxed set IS the ultimate collection. Ten discs, previously unreleased tracks, and never before audio releases of some of the biggest moments in Garth music history, makes me love this collection,” said Brooks. “For example, the 25th Anniversary Edition of ‘Friends in Low Places’ with George Strait, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban is only available in this box and will be gone when the boxes are gone.

Amazon.com has both the new album and Christmas album for pre-order for $8.99 a piece.

There are 10 songs on the studio album and 11 on the Christmas album. Sugarcane and the remake of FILP are missing.

    Interesting...

So the standard version has "8teen" as the closing track.

Interesting that 8teen is listed as the last track on the standard edition, with Cowboys and Friends just before it. But on the Target edition Cowboys & Friends is the (pseudo) last track before FILP25. In fact, the whole last half of the albums appears to have been shifted around on the standard edition.

For comparison, the Target Edition tracklist is:

    1.Honky-Tonk Somewhere
    2.Weekend
    3.Ask Me How I Know
4.Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance
    5.He Really Loves You
    6.Whiskey To Wine
    7.BANG! BANG!
    8.Pure Adrenaline
    9.8teen
    10.SugarCane (Target Exclusive)
    11.Cowboys and Friends
12.Friends In Low Places (Target Exclusive)

The standard edition on Amazon is:

    1 Honky-Tonk Somewhere
    2 Weekend
3 Ask Me How I Know
4 Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance
    5 He Really Loves You
    6 Pure Adrenaline
    7 Whiskey To Wine
    8 BANG! BANG!
    9 Cowboys and Friends
    10 8teen

Anybody else planning on changing "8teen" to "Eighteen" when you add it to iTunes? Unless the lyrics have something to do with the number 8, it's just a silly word stylization which is quite the trend in pop and hip-hop music these days. Call me an old fogey but it drives me crazy!

So I take it 8teen is garth's favorite song just as I suspected. It was rearranged with the exclusive one to make it flow with the other songs.
'All the way to Tacoma, by then I hope you're out of my mind.'

In case anyone was curious, the length of the standard version is listed as 35:06 on Amazon.

Not huge news, but Garth said in tonight's Inside Studio G that the Limited First Edition of Gunslinger will only be in the Target box.

Hey, that's good news, means not fighting crowds at other stores on Black Friday or ordering it online!

The only question now is whether the First Edition will have a different cover than the regular edition. I assume that the cover we've all seen is the regular edition, since that's the version that Amazon has for the digital version.

Good question. MAM first edition was basically the same.

I like and hope it's like Scarecrow was.

Anyone else find it odd that there are no song samples available yet?

Yes, he looks like a cowboy who has been riding his horse on a dusty trail...or a bandit!

Wow, I like that a lot!

If I may ask, how did your friend acquire the set early?
