"Garth finished the evening with four songs from the early part of his career — "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)," "We Shall Be Free," "Friends In Low Places" and "The Dance" — then brought Jim and Allen back out for an acoustic read of the O Brother, Where Art Thou? track "I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow."

That highlight was missed by those who left early, though the bulk of them at least saw Trisha Yearwood’s moving performance for her husband. Trisha sang a grippingly powerful version of "To Make You Feel My Love," backed only by Mark Casstevens’ acoustic guitar and Rob Hajacos’ fiddle, while Garth stood at attention in the center of the room.

"He’s cried more tonight?" she told the crowd.

"I love you," she told him, "and I’m very proud of you."

"The last nine years of my life," he said to her later, "have been the best nine years of my life. I love you." "

    thanks for linking that.
I would give anything to have seen Trisha sing "To Make You Feel My Love' to him..
We always hear him gush over her ... but to see them share that song ... I"m soo happy for them both. If everyone had half that much love.. the world would be in a constant state of grin

I would have loved to hear her sing that to him. You can tell by the way he looks at her that she is the love of his life. Good for them.

I was surprised that Kathy Mattea performed there. She's my second favorite artist from Garth. Has anybody heard her latest CD "Coal" which is full of traditional coal mining songs?
Somewhere other than the night, she needs to hear "I love you"

So, you've never read the Rolling Stone or the Playboy interviews?? Our Mr. Brooks is a Marine's son for certain; I say that as a Ranger's daughter!!!

Yup those were some of the ones I was thinking about. I'm pretty certain I have more examples buried in my collection as well. I mean if nothing else, what about the third verse of FILP---even though it is a milder word that the ones you mentioned.

Yeah, Garth didn't cuss during the Chris Gaines special, he was talking about something what his brother Kelly said about the way Chris looked compared to Garth, and Garth flipped the bird! It was hilarious!

Actually he did, because Kelly saw the difference between the pre-wreck and post-wreck Chris and Garth quoted Kelly as saying," That must've been a helluva car wreck." To which Garth responded by giving the finger. Then after the crowd's response, Garth said that HE didn't say that--CHRIS said that. Very funny though.
