    Setlist: Monday, 11/5

Since no one has started this yet, thought I would.

For those at the show, please use this thread to post Monday night's setlist so that those of us out here who can't go will only have one thread to check.

    Thanks!

if the show started at 7:30 then what happened in all the time until 9ish when Garth started playing? Anyone know?

I know Trisha opened, but surely she didn't sing for that long...did she?

    A few personal thoughts:

-No If Tomorrow Never Comes, Shameless, Standing Outside the Fire, AHBA, or Longneck Bottle

    -No Duet with Trisha

-Not 1 song from Scarecrow (surprising actually)

-Only 1 song from Lost Sessions (I hoped for more)

-Only 1 song from Sevens (another surprise)

-Only 1 of the new songs from Ultimate Hits (I thought he'd play Midnight Sun)

-3 songs came from Fresh Horses and 3 from Ropin the Wind

-2 came from In Pieces, 2 from The Chase, and 2 from Garth Brooks

    -4 from No Fences

    -Tons of encore songs

Can't wait to read reviews from people who actually went (you lucky dogs!)

There are some major omissions from the list... Shameless, If tomorrow Never come, Standing outside the fire... hmmm, doesn't seem quite right does it?! Also, thought he would go more like 2 1/2 hours or so. Not that I'll complain, just kinda thought he'd go a little longer... awesome encore list though!

Well, it is the first night in 9 years.... I just hope the set changes a bit each night. I would sure like to see Standing OutsideThe Fire, AHBA, Learning To Live Again (since it is on the new set), etc. I was also surprised that none of the Scarecrow songs came out to play. I have always thought Rodeo or Mexico would be a killer live song.....maybe later in the week :0

I am thinking that If Tomorrow Never Comes will be swapped with Unanswered Prayers on various nights. He did that at a few shows I saw many moons ago...

I could personally do with a different closing song though. I like American Pie, I would just like to hear something different! I think I'm in the minority though.

by the way...the list above is missing "Unwound". It was between Night Moves and Vincent, according to the 'live' reports. :0

The only one I must hear Thursday is Shameless. If he doesn't do it that night... I'll probably be bumming folks for Friday tickets and stay an extra night lol.

I'm pumped that he did a James Taylor number. Really pumped that he did some Hag and am anxious to see how it changes up through Wednesday. Gosh I'm ready to drive to KC now and I'm excited about the Pre-party Thursday and meeting everybody. OT: My only problem: Which G-themed shirt should I go with The "Texas Stadium" wavy Mo Betta or the "Beer Run" (black and white checkerboard on one half, black plaid with white lines on the other) Mo Betta?

I loved "My Baby No Esta Aqui" and thought it would sound great live too. But to be honest, I'll just be thrilled to hear whatever.

Are you sure? I thought people were saying that they hoped he plays it later on in the week, not that he actually played it tonight.

I'm going to this week's Wednesday show too! And thursday!

"Then the year was 1979 and my dad RULED the radio...my kids today, THEY rule the radio, when I was kid if you reached for the radio you got your hand slapped. When you're a teenager the last place you wanna be is with your dad....goin' to the store....then I heard a lady on the radio say "Here's a new kid from Texas, I think you're gonna like him, his name is George Strait", and since that day all I've ever wanted to be was George Strait"

    "Unwound"
Here is a quote from LWTT that was doing the reporting in the other thread. Some how it go left of the list... who knows!

    Thumbs up Awesome show!

EDIT: you need to add if tomorrow never comes to the setlist. It was one of the highlights imho!

I just got back from the Monday night show 11/5 and it was spectacular!

The crowd was nutz and he gave a show as good as any from 10 years ago. I didnt' keep a setlist but it was a crash course in hits and while I think the time was around 2 hours it felt like 3.

    Highlights were:

    the river
    the dance
    ain't going down (encore)
    american pie (encore)
    unanswered prayers
    callin baton rouge
    if tomorrow never comes
fever (opener...and may I say the opening was very well done with a twist on his old entrance, but I won't give spoilers )
    we shall be free
    much too young
more than a memory (which he nailed and the crowd joined in on!)

actually now that I look the setlist posted previously is pretty complete....the energy and showmanship were there....just an awesome show! and the crowd looked to be capacity and really treated him right. What a great way to get back in the saddle. he talked a fair bit too and reiterated his plans to go back to retirement after these shows. He was so lively and generous with his encore....I'm pretty sure the second encore that he did solo wasn't planned as it took him a bit to think of some things to play. it was a great mix of songs that inspired him and he talked a bit about each one. said he was flying home to take the girls to school! what a week he's going to have!

OMG what a show! Tomorrow night can't come soon enough!

The audience was so loud and was cheering and applauding for a very long time between some of the songs. So if people could turn down the volume a little bit and not clap for so long, maybe he can get to play more songs? ;-)

The last encore was him alone with the guitar. All the solo songs took some 15 minutes to play.
