Trying to find song

I am trying to find a song that I heard sung by Garth Brooks a few years ago.
I don't know who wrote it or if it has been sung by other artists.
I did look thru some of the song database listed here.

I think it was included as a Christmas song although it wasn't a traditional song.

It took place during WWI or WWII and told the story of both sides stopping their fighting on Christmas Eve and standing up and singing a song. When they were done, the battle continued. It was based upon a true story

Can anyone help me with the title/lyrics?

That was on Christmas Eve, 1914 during World War I.
There are some great books on what happened that day and how the officers and officials reacted on this spontaneous Christmas truce.
There was much more than singing a song together, the "enemies" were playing soccer, cards etc.
Well, it did not happen again in 1915 or anytime again.
