OPRY 80th Birthday Lineup and Comments about the Show (MERGED w/ other threads)

Apologies if this is already posted... Garth is doing both shows Saturday... the televised portion on the first show with Steve Wariner, Travis Tritt and Diamond Rio, and the 11-11:30 portion with Bill Anderson and the Whites.

Will try to get the full lineup on the home page later for those going to the shows.

Thanks for the heads up, J!

Do you know if the later show will be on WSM radio?

    Thanks, J.

WSM has pay and a free online. I think the GOO is free but you need to register.

thanks Joyce! it's listed that Garth's gonna be on the Saturday show at 7pm and 11pm..are these times televised or not?

I know on gactv.com they have Garth listed as being on the GOO 80th anniversary special at 8pm which will be live..

    Can you say PERFECT timing?

Just received our cable bill today and as of 10/6, we've had GAC but I didn't even know it. Isn't it nice of them to give me GAC just before Garth's on the Opry?

I listen to the Opry online quite a bit, well, whenever Andy Griggs is on
Here's a direct link to listen to WSM online-- http://players.eonstreams.com/FastAi...p?PlayerID=308 and at one point they did charge to listen to archives, but they are now on the site for free-- http://www.wsmam.com/page.asp?SID=1&Page=248

Thanks for the links--I'm glad to see that I'll still be able to listen through archives.

    very cool!

I see lots of listings for Opry shows Saturday and Sunday. Waht confuses me is these 2 or 3 half-hour segments before the hour, and they seem to repeat. Are all these shows related? I'm not sure how to tape them so I can get everything on one tape for me and maybe another for a friend. What's on these half-hour segments and what's on the hour ones? Are those repeats?

The only thing that will be shown on t.v. is the 7 - 8 pm hour of the Opry, which translates to 8 - 9 pm EST. Unless they show 2 hours, which I imagine would be 7 - 9 pm, or 8 - 10 pm EST. That's the way the Opry is always televised--only one hour is shown "live". However, you can listen to all of it online.

Which I think I will do. But finding out the time difference is nessesary.

    Norway is CET (GMT+1).

I've been surfing around looking for which time zone Nashville, TN is in. From what I've found out, it is 6 or 7 hours behind me. But I'm not sure. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=171 and http://www.timeanddate.com/library/a...es/na/est.html don't seem to have Nashville in either time zone.

Currently Nashville is CDT or CST? (GMT-5 og GMT-6?) From what I can see from sandis' post rigth below, Nashville is EST-1?

Can please somebody help me decide what time I should set my alarm clock for when I want to catch the 7 PM show online? :-)

Nashville is on CDT right now....... so I THINK that Saturday 7 pm CDT in Nashville should be Sun 2:00 AM in Oslo, Norway.

I used the fixed World clock feature at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html

Just find Nashville on the drop down list.... set the time for Oct. 15 at 7pm and hit calculate. Then it gives you a page of the times at various places in the world at that fixed moment.

I'm listening to WSMOnline now. They are doing a little warm up show at "the red carpet". Garth is reported to have entered the building and done rehersals. :-)

    Soon the fun will start!
