    Peaches and Garth

I'm finally getting caught up on the email alerts that I get with Garth mentions and saw one that I don't remember seeing here at PG, unless I missed it. The article talks about the South Carolina Peach Festival in 1990 where Garth was booked, before he broke wide open, to be an opening act for Shenandoah.
After Garth finished the show, he was leaving the festival to head out to a show out west. It had rained before the concert, and the bus tires were spinning. It was going to require extra throttle to get the bus moving.”

Unwilling to let the loud bus engines interfere with Shenandoah’s performance, Brooks declared his bus would not leave the festival grounds until the concert was over.
There's also a picture from that show of Garth climbing the stage tower. The whole article can be found here - http://www.gaffneyledger.com/news/20..._page/002.html

    this is cute

“The South Carolina Peach Festival must have a drawing card whether it’s the country music concert lineup or a tractor pull with prize money that will attract the top names. There has to be something unique to make someone put the key in the ignition and come from out of town to the Peach Festival,” Fowler said. “During the month of July, the festival is the gate to the city of Gaffney. We want to put our best peach forward.”

I've actually been to Gaffney, but not for the Peach festival. They have a giant water tower in the shape of a peach (although at certain angles, it looks like something else). LOL.

I always though Georgia was the peach state

at least, that's what all the signs on the interstates imply.
