Melody Island
i wrote this poem after going to the "big city" (Jacksonville, FL) for a few hours and almost PULLING MY HAIR OUT!
i was so exhausted after that day from traffic jams, millions of people, and all that kinda stuff. anyhow, this is the poem...
In the midst of all this confusion
I close my eyes and see
A land without infinite time -
An island of melody
The dobro plays a soft lullaby
Each night when down I lay
And the fiddle's soft, slow moaning
Is to what each morning I wake
Worries seem to float on by
Like white lilies on a pond
And a distant ocapela's sound
Softly fills my mind
But once I open up my eyes
I see this old world we live in
And my beautiful Melody Island
Becomes a dream once again
not one of my best poems, but i had fun writing it. hope yall enjoyed it!

thanks Susan. it was a blast to write because i've grown up around music (my grandfather played when he was alive and my father still plays a lot), and this was kinda like me going over the things that i love about the kind of music i hear so much: the fiddle, the dobro, and even though i didnt mention them, the banjo, mandolin, and a bunch of others. anyway, thanks for reading, i hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i did writing it!

I always enjoy reading poetry....probably because I was never much good at writing it in school, it makes me appreciate it
