I watched American Idol last night and no one got voted off cos Corey left earlier in the week. What happened to Corey? Did I miss a week or something??

Corey was charged in an assault on his little sister and he fought with several police officers. He kept this information from the producers.

BTW ...Josh did horrible this week don't you think? He should have been in the bottom three. I didn't want him to go but he needs to snap out of it. Even Garth can sing a really country song and then sing a song like "The River." Josh is writing his ticket out of this competition.

I do totally agree about Josh. He looked out of place doing disco. I also thought he would be in the bottom 3. I think his previous weeks have worked for him and fans seem to be voting because they like him and not because he sung well.
As for Simon Cowell.................. on last weeks show (country) he kept saying he didn't know the music. If anything that could have made it easier for him. Alternatively, he could have got hold of each of the tracks being sung and listened to them. He does know his business but he is so 'nasty'. There is constructive criticism and there is rudeness - he is rude!

Simon made a comment last week when the final three were standing there, before we were told that nobody was going to be voted off. He said there was somebody sitting on the couch that should have been in the final three and "he" knew who he was. It was my opinion that he was referring to Josh. I agree, Jude, if Simon doesn't know anything about country music he should have at least listened to the original versions of the songs the contestants sang before he heard their version. It would be difficult to determine what kind of a job on the song the contestant did if you'd never heard the song before. Simon had also made a comment to Carmen about singing "Wild Angels" and how he'd never heard that song before and it was dreadful. I don't think Martina would be impressed to hear that. Simon can be very rude at times and then, there are times when what he says is true, rude or not, whereas I sometimes feel that Randy and Paula aren't always as truthful.

I do agree CarolAnn. Especially Paula - she seems to 'sit on the fence' and say nice things. Simon is just too blunt (rude).

Yep... Joshua was dreadful last week. I have to agree with Simon on that even if Josh is one of my favorites.

However....... I did still vote for Josh (as well as Reuben and Clay)... this is why.

1) Josh was sick.... I know, I know... the show goes on but I took it into account. In addition I think it was a really stressful time for him.

2) Joshua was honest in "trying" to stick to the theme when the week before others were not. It was disco... and Josh tried to sing it even though it's not his thing. However the week before most of them didn't try to sing country rock AT ALL. I felt they totally ignored the theme in order to sing what they knew best. As Simon and many dont really know country... they didn't say to much about it.... however if Josh had tried to sing country during disco... it would have stuck out like a sore thumb. So anyway..... I gave him handicap points for this.

BUT...... When it comes down to the wire.... and I have to decide between him and say Reuben or Clay.... and Josh hasn't snapped out of this slump...... then I'm going to have let him go. Hopefully he'll get picked up by a country label in the future anyway. He's better than many of the artists currently recording anyhow.

I think Rickey and Josh both thought Simon was talking about them. Rickey had his head down while Simon was saying that and he had a less than stellar performance as well. Hopefully they'll both use that motivation to rise to the next level this week.

I actually decided before the Disco show started that I'd vote for the one who had a hard time pulling it off. That seemed like a benefit to me--lol. Why would anyone WANT to sing disco--lol.
