BIOGRAPHY
She's working on an article
She wants to know what I really think
There's places where words disappear
All the pens she had ran out of ink
Now there's just a bunch of empty space
Looking for a new contributor
I don't think I'd be much help
I've never written anything before
From somewhere deep inside of her
I start writing down everything I see
Working on her article
I find that there's a whole biography
I open up pages from her past
To understand where she's at today
I show her all these scribble marks
What people wrote and tried to wash away
All those things she tried to erase
If only she kept them written out
Even if it hurts, she'd know
All the pens she had did not wear out
From somewhere deep inside of her
I've been writing down everything I see
Working on her article
I find that there's a whole biography
Somewhere deep inside of her
There's pictures of my family
Right there in the middle of the page
The page that I wrote about me
A page in her biography

BEST MAN
I got a friend who's getting married soon
He wanted me to hold the ring
I've been looking everywhere for a gift
For someone who has everything
I gave up and just went home
Saw an empty box by the bed
I wrapped it up and threw on top
A card that simply said
"Here's a little something that
Will make you a better man"
He opens up the box, sees nothing inside,
And says "I dont understand"
"Well my friend there's nothing I can give,
That could make you a better man.
See, I might've held the rings tonight,
But you were the best man."
Instrumental Break
"Here's a little something that
Will make you a better man"
He opens up the box, sees nothing inside,
And says "I dont understand"
"Well my friend there's nothing I can give,
That could make you a better man.
See, I might've held the rings tonight,
But you were the best man."
I might've held the ring tonight
But you were the best man."
