    Who sings this song?

    Hi!

Can anybody help here? Who sings this song? And do you know something about it?

It just blew me away when I heard it!

    She misses him
    Written by Tim Johnson
    (Tim Johnson; EMI/Blackwood/Tim Johnson, BMI)
    Produced by David Malloy

    She shaves his face
    She combs his hair
    She helps him find
    His rocking chair
    She cooks his meal
    She wipes his mouth
    And the window that
    He's looking out

    She reads him books
    She speaks his name
Oh everyday is much the same
    She sighs that sigh
    From deep within
    The one that says
    She misses him

    She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
    She misses him

    His Children come on Saturday
There at his feet his grandkids play
It's sad they don't know him at all
He's just the one they call grandpa

    They take out his trash
    They mow his lawn
    Tings he can't do
    Since he's been gone
    She's grateful that
    They're pitching in
    And like everyone
    She misses him

    She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
    She misses him

    And yes, they're still together
    After all these years
But sometimes you can almost feel
    The sadness in her tears

    She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet. so smart
The man who stole her very heart
    She misses him

    Sara...

    Howdy, cowgirl!

Nice to talk to you again!

Thank you sooo very much for the help. Now that I had a name I found all I needed.

I heard this song today for the very first time. Iīm still touched sooo very much.

I found Tim Rushlows "future official website" and some very interesting notes. Now when I started this I may answer my own question with some quotes of that site:

    http://www.timrushlow.com/

    About him:

The voice of Little Texas has delivered his first solo album, and fans of that multi-platinum 1990s band are in for a treat.

"TIM RUSHLOW" spotlights a matured artist. Check out current the single "She Misses Him," a sad yet inspirational tale of a devoted wife taking care of her husband stricken with Alzheimer's disease.

"She misses him" - The whole story

Atlantic recording artist Tim Rushlow is seeing firsthand the passionate reactions to his new single and video "She Misses Him." The touching ballad is hitting home with listeners because it tackles a topic that touches many lives. It's about a woman faithfully caring for her ailing husband, while missing the man he used to be.

I think Iīll observe that guy a bit. Seems to be worth it.

Hey. I like this idea of putiing up lyrics to a song and we try to guess and learn about the singer! I learned alot in just a few minutes!

The words remind me of the care Mrs. Reagan has been know to give President Reagan since she "lost" in to Alzheimers disease.

    Dale, I love this idea!

Well, it started with a request for a song, but it got that big. For me it is. I learned a lot, too.

And it would be okay, when some would share their thoughts for this song, this singer... When they have seen or met him, when they were on a concert... Whatever it is. Feel free to tell us how he effected on you. Iīd listen.

And about the song. Itīs hard to "loose" like that. Itīs hard to see the love of your life like that. And itīs good that there are some people out there who talk about it. It even heals them. And talking helps.
But beside of all the tragedy thereīs a lovely message:

Itīs about unconditional love - The deepest, strongest and truest love of all.

Maddy, that's the kind of love I felt come alive in me through Chris Gaines music. Now, do you see why I'm so "obsessed" with a mere character in a movie? You can't FAKE that kind of love. Now, putting it on the big screen? I'd have to think the only way that is possible would be if the seed has already been planted in the heart, and the movie gives an even better dousing than the prequel and helps bring it more to life. Ain't music such a Powerful Thing. Yikes! Now I feel like singing Trisha's song with her and Garth! I tell ya. It's addicting.

I had an idea of a song's lyrics to share here but promptly forgot them. I'll be back with one soon. I'll make sure it's one others might know or can easily find.

Dale, take me with you when youīre gonna meet Garth next time. I wonīt miss that! LOL!

Well, which place is better to share your love for Chris than the one, where are people who have him in their heart. Remember! In every Garth is a piece of Chris!

Dale, I understand what you mean. You give Chris the greatest love of all - unconditional love - The deepest, strongest and truest love of all.

He can be sooo happy to have you. You are one of the greatest gifts for him. And well, you donīt need a movie to prove that to yourself, Chris or anybody else. Itīs there and it will last forever. Whatever may happen in your life - youīll have it and youīll know it. Ainīt that a great feeling?

And yes! Music is such a Powerful Thing! It can do everything with you. And thatīs good!

Let me know about the song when you can remember it. I listened to different versions of "Please Come To Boston". Right now I listen to Reba McEntireīs. Itīs a great one. And in EVERY version was Garth. I can hear, feel and see him when I listen to it.

    Love!

I guess you are right I do love Chris. But you know what? He touched me and made me feel his love first. How can you not respond to that? I think, with Chris, it's a bit more personal than maybe with Garth alone?

Dean, yes. I know. Planet Gaines has arrived, with me on it! Let me tell you, that dude is covering tracks Garth only dreams about!

Here's a few lyrics from a country singer I tried and tried to like for my brother's sake. It's his fave singer. It was the video of this song that finally got me to see the love in this man's heart through his music. Now, when I look into his eyes, the love is all I see.

"When your heart is all alone
    Every second seems so long
When it's just you, you can't see through
Those ol' clouds of rain so blue

    But when somebody loves you
    There's nothing you can't do
    When somebody loves you
    It's easy to get through
    When somebody loves you
The way that I love you

"So let's put aside our foolish pride
And let our hearts say hello
We both agree we're just no good
    At bein' on our own"

Can anybody guess who this is who also made me feel his love? Easy!

i wanted to say mark chesnutt but no

than it hit me. it's the chatahoochie guy, the same guy who sings where I come frome, and where wer you

    ALAN JACKSON

    heres one fuzzy

    see their was this woman
    and there was this man
there was this moment they had a chance
to hold on to what they had
how could they be so in love
    and still never see
now nothing could be sadder than
    this woman and this man

it's kinda hard so heres a hint

Don't know Dean. I'm stuck, due to my lack of knowledge from years of ignorance to all things country. I'm gonna need alot of help with more clues, unless the answer is Randy Travis?

Here's another one that may be hard for others though. It comes from the debut self-titled album of a male artist who's greatest hits did nothing for me, same as Alan's. That is, until I heard some of these songs that sadly never made it on the hits, but should have. I believe if others who don't like him give this cd a go they may change their minds.

    You've got a glow that's not a suntan
And a new gleam in your eyes
Oh it must have been one great vacation
    girl you look so satisfied

Tell me what room was the holiday in
Was I out of your mind when you turned to him
What a good time it must have been
Tell me what room was the holiday in

If no one gets it I'll share more lyrics, but what I really enjoy about this album is how it feels when I listen to it. And how I now enjoy all this artist's music that stems from that feeling.

I am digging here and there and found some interesting quotes about this song and its history from Tim himself.
    Itīs from www.cmt.com:

We are a nursing class studying geriatrics. I thought "She Misses Him" would be an extremely appropriate song to use for a demonstration. Where did the song originate and does it have any personal significance for you?

It didn't have any personal significance to me other than the fact that it really touched me. Until I recorded it and heard it on the radio, I started to get e-mails, cards and letters and phone calls from people. Then it started to do something to me personally. The song was written by Tim Johnson. He watched the relationship between his wife's grandparents and wrote the song off of that and the unconditional love affair he saw, which is a real beautiful story. When it's 'for better or for worse' and worse rolls around, it's pretty beautiful to see what someone who loves you will do for you. I think that's really where he wrote the song from, and I just tried to give the song the dignity and emotion that it needed to live, and basically stay out of its way. I'm very proud of the song, and I definitely think it would be a great song for anybody that's a caregiver.

We love "She Misses Him," but why was the video changed from using the Reagans? It meant a lot when they were on the video because they are people we can relate to and know it's a true story for them.

I think that Ronald Reagan became one of the faces for Alzheimer's because he obviously is one of the most famous patients that was willing to be heroic enough to come forward and tell what he had. Of course when we first heard it, that was what we thought of. We contacted the Reagans and we got a green light from them to explore shooting a video using footage from them. We shot the video using footage that we'd acquired from the Smithsonian and the Ronald Reagan Library. We finished the video and submitted it to CMT at the same time we submitted it to the Reagan family. Six days after it had started to air, the Reagans' chief of staff sent a letter to Atlantic Records and to me. It was very nice. It said, 'the President and Mrs. Reagan are very honored by your tribute and they are enjoying listening to the song very much; however at this time, realizing that this footage, for the video is public domain footage, they respectfully request that you change the video without their likeness. So, what this really boils down to is that when it's public domain footage somebody could take that footage off of the video that we have and throw it on a Web site and it would be legal. They really didn't want that, nor would we. We did the video in the first place out of honor and respect for them, and in honor and respect for them, we pulled the video and re-shot it using a couple in Nashville instead. I really think that makes it more poignant. I didn't think it would at first, but after I saw the video finished the second time, I realized that it was much more relatable to people because you can picture anybody in your family there instead of it just being the Reagans.
    I found it very interesting.

Hey Maddy. Great topic, great song

"She Misses Him" is wonderful. Tim Johnson is a great song writer. Tim R. does a good job on that song, but you should hear Tim Johnson sing it. It's on his last album, Remember me Gently (name/title song), and he sings it beautifully. He has written songs that are sung by other artists as well. Anyone remember "I Let Her Lie" from a couple years back?(can't remember who covered it, sorry.) But that's on Tim Js latest also.

Daryle Singletary recorded "I Let Her Lie"--great song. I heard Tim Johnson sing it at Andy Griggs' first fan club party and it was a lot more powerful coming from him. He's a great songwriter and he's got a great voice. I always look for his name in the liner notes when I get a new CD.

Darryl has an AWESOME new album out this year. If you like classic country and you like Darryl's honky tonk attitude, you will LOVE "That's Why I Sing This Way." It's covers of classic country songs, and many of the original artists (Haggard, Paycheck, Jones) sing with him.

Tim Rushlow is one of the smartest men I've met as far as being hands on for his career. He knows what he wants, and he isn't going to settle for anything less, even if he has to wait to get it. He got dealt a hard blow when Atlantic closed down. He had a top 10 song out and no one could buy it, because the album didnt' come out. He was sitting in the XM studios a couple of months back when his cell phone rang, and he answered it live on the air. It was someone from a *certain* record label we know calling. I think we'll hear more from him.

    Sorry, I'm rambly tonight.

    WOW!!!

I just posted these info to let you know what I found out, but didnīt expect any comments - especially not those great info.

    Thank you!

Well, I donīt know Tim Johnson. I looked for his homepage, but found just a US Senator. Anything I should know?!

Lives ago when I was watching wrestling (Donīt shout at me! Everybody needs some time to grow! LOL! ) a guy wrote some songs for a wrestler, but I donīt know if his name was Tim Johnson or Jim Johnson.

I love this place here. You have no idea what you did to me. I "met" some real great, gifted artists because you guys introduced them to me.

    THANK YOU!!!

Well, tell me more about Tim Johnson. Maybe start a new thread. Iīm willing to listen.

Thanks for all the help and info!

And J! Thanks for rambly. I love you doing it.

Anybody know whose debut it was I quoted from? I'll be back later with another from that album you should hopefully know or will.

Thanks Maddy, although it was okay to bring Tim Johnson into the thread since he was one of the songwriters on Tim Rushlow's song (if I've been following the conversation). Let's keep this thread on topic and begin other threads for some of the other conversations that seem to be branching off.

CC, don't be sorry...I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone. I went back and read your post and it was pretty much on topic. A little detour doesn't hurt...it's just that, when the whole thread starts turning off topic, it's time to start a new thread on the new topic.

Oh I'm glad you said that Paula. I can't make it to every thread every day - none of us can. And I hate it when I discover that a thread I thought I'd read quite a bit of and had moved past had turned the discussion a completely different direction I might want to be a part of and missed out on.

For instance - a Toby Keith thread.. I might check it out when it goes up, just to get the obligatory jabs in so that Elaine can stick her tongue out at me. But after a day or so I probably won't go back for a while.

If the discussion has turned to Montgomery Gentry in the meantime, I'm gonna be ticked I missed it.
