That one didn't stand out for me the first time either... I never disliked the song, it just wasn't one of my faves. Then, one day was listening in the car and it just clicked. Must've been my mood or something!

I don't know about all of you, but now that I've been listening to "Scarecrow" for about 5 months now, "Mr. Midnight" has become my favorite track on the CD. Originally I didn't think much of the song in comparison to most of the other tracks, but it is now my favorite one. I mean they are all great, but you know what I mean!

Oh! that is definitely my favorite track on the C.D. as well.
I felt the same way in the very beginning but it didn't take long for me to really listen to it and I have been hooked since!!![]()
It's something about his voice in that song that's just so poignant and it kind of draws you in but, it also leaves you wanting more!
I know that may sound a little crazy but that's just how it makes me feel!

WOW, I can't believe its been that long...it seems like just yesterday.
allison.
The very first time I listened to it, I got chills and it made me cry. In fact, last night I asked my estranged husband to listen to it, (he's not a country fan at all), and he thought it was an awesome song.
I've listened to that song at LEAST 100 times, and I still get the chills from it. And when the mood suits me, it makes me cry.

It got to me right away too! The line "I'm forever gonna be" kills me! The way he sings it just melts me!
I would shear sheep in siberia with a remington to see him sing this LIVE!

It is, for me, the best song on the album. All the songs are great, but there's something about MR MIDNIGHT that makes you think of everyone that you've loved and lost.
Just my opinion
I have to agree with you, the first time i heard this song i have been hooked on it, it's my favorite song on this cd, i listen to it all the time. There have been many times where i have been in this situation, and it sometimes kills me inside.Originally posted by DriftinAway
