    WOOOOHOOOO!!! I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!

I am driving my hubby and kids mad at the moment by jumping through the house singing Eagles songs REALLY LOUD (and not always in tune ). It takes all I've got to be able to sit down here and type...

We are going to leave home WAY TOO EARLY, because I don't want to take any chances with train delays etc. etc. (I saw the Eagles once before, in Zürich. We went there by car - done that before, never a problem - and got stuck in traffic! We missed the first song they played: Hotel California!! AAAAARRRRCHCHCHCH! I actually walked the last mile or so, because it was faster, but still missed that beautiful song. I have been killing my hubby about this ever since. He can make it up to me tonight, by taking me really, really early. In fact, I will be leaving in half an hour).

O.K., I gotta move on, jumping and singing. Can't sit still anymore! Sorry for rambling, will let you know how it was tomorrow!

    BYEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I still love the song Desperado... And I love it when Clint Black sings it on the Common Thread CD as well.

I'm sure it was a great show... so tell us all about it.

I know how you feel! I saw them back in the 70's doing the Hotel California tour, and they have always been my fav group. Common Thread is an excelent cd. My favorite song off that cd is "I Can't Tell You Why" by Vince Gill. Tell us all about it when you get back!

    IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!

    Hi all,

    They were soooooo GOOOOOOD!!!

We had great seats, a bit to the right of the stage and in row 30 (which felt like quite close to the stage, because the venue is huge). I took some pictures, but I think they are too far away. I also took some of the big video screens and I hope they will work out.

The Eagles started with an acapella (sp.?) song that I had never heard before. Really beautiful. Their voices are perfect together!
Another song that made a HUGE impression on me was "Wasted Time". Don Henley has such an icredible voice! There was magic in the air when he was singing it... as if the whole audience was holding their breath until he had finished it. Goose bumps all over!
They played a lot of their hits, and they all sounded VERY, VERY GOOD! Once or twice Glenn Frey didn't quite get his high tones, but hey, nobody's perfect, right?! Timothy B. Schmidt got his high notes perfectly on "I Can't Tell You Why" and I LOVED IT!

After the break, they played Hotel California and I was a bit annoyed, because a lot of people were not back in their seat yet and that disturbed this beautiful song.
They played a couple of "rockier" songs from Joe Walsh's solo albums and some of Don Henley's solo albums. The audience went mad when they left the stage and they came back twice! The last two songs: "Take It Easy" and "Desperado". I couldn't think of a better end of a GREAT concert!

*sigh* Just wish I could go again and again...

Hey Marjolijn... if ya haven't checked it out yet, you really should. It IS a GREAT album...

I think I need to take mine out again, after all this talk. It's been a while since I listened to it.

I'm glad you had such a great time at the show... but then, was there ever really much doubt if it'd be a good show or not, anyway???

The CD is on my "wish list" with Amazon, Sam. (I am the only one who buys things from that list. It may sound pathetic, but it is nice to have a wish list ).

And you are right, I KNEW that the show would be fantastic!

    Hmmm... wha? Ticket prices???

    Well, I ah... dunno....?

    Marjolijn

Allright, I have to admit the tickets are extremely expensive! I guess they never thought about their pension before and now they are making sure they will enjoy their time after 65!

And since their 65th birthday is not all that far away anymore... they had to hurry up getting the cash in!

You guys are so funny! When I was in Vegas in Dec. 99 to see Vince, the Eagles were going to be there the night after we left. It had ticket prices going as high as $250 for the best seats. It was at a nice casino though. It would have been worth every penny. Your review was awesome!! It felt as if I was right there. (I wish) Glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing.

Hey Marjolijn.. how the heck does that silly "Wish List" thingy work anyway???

I just bought a CD from them today... and saw that... I just kinda got that look that dogs get when they are confused/lost... and moved on... purchased the CD, and forgot all about it. That is, until I came here and saw this.

    So enlighten me, Marjolijn...

    Wish List

    It is quite simple, Sam.

If you have some CD's, books, video's or whatever that you'd like to have but you don't want to buy them yourself (although you still can, ofcourse), you put them on your Wish List. You can write a small "comment" under each item and then the idea is that you send your Wish List to all of your friends and family (the more the better ). Most importantly, your friends and family are supposed to then go ahead and buy these things for you (mine haven't quite grasped that, unfortunately ). Amazon will ship it to you and bill the buyer.

You can search on Amazon for other people's Wish Lists by name. (Hint: mine is on Amazon.co.uk...)

I think it is a good thing if your birthday is coming up or so. Nobody will have to think very hard what present to get you. Just make sure that your Wish List is long enough!

All clear?? You can thank me by buying something off my Wish List

    Right back at ya, Marjolijn...

Oh, and FYI... I don't understand what "no" means... just ask around...

That question --- "What part of NO didn't you understand?" ---- was made for me...

Common Thread is an awesome CD. I agree. I love the versions of Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling and Sad Cafe. Actually, there's not one song on there I don't like. How could anyone not love it?
Glad to know how the Wish List works. Guess my friends and family will have some new email soon! LOL
