Life is too short NOT to be a Garth Brooks fan!
I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day!!!
Yay! It worked!

Mary Liz, you wanna hear something else?
I have other STRICT ORDERS while taking photos of Garth: When one of the females (who shall remain nameless again!) is getting a Garth hug, I am supposed to "fiddle with the camera" like there is something wrong with it to make the Garth hug last as long as possible!
Can you believe what some women will do for one of those hugs?

By the way, our friend Rory took that first photo, I took this one...

Jim,
I can believe that one......
I think I would have to ask you to rewind the film, open a new roll and load the new roll.........and maybe ever replace the batteries for the flash.
If I get my chance at meeting Garth.......I may have to call on you so remember this ok?
Shelly Pa
Very niice.![]()
Shelly, it's funny that you say that!
It all started when we saw Trisha Yearwood at the casinos in New Jersey. After the show, we found the band members out near the tour buses, and of course, the girls had to get their picture taken with guitarist Johnny Garcia. They pose for me, with one girl at either side of Johnny. Well, I break my camera out and accidentally shoot a picture of the ground... the last one on the roll. So I change the roll, and they're still posing. I look into the viewfinder and notice that the batteries have died! So I break out the new batteries, drop them, pick them up, and put them in the camera, all the while they're still posing. This takes about 4 or 5 minutes, they're still posing and saying "Take your time!" It was hilarious!
You have to understand that all the problems that I had with the camera were real, but now they want me to recreate my problems everytime so that they have more "quality time," if you catch my drift.

If I never try
Jim
Good, so if I ever get "my turn" you will have every excuse available so I get some good "quality" time too.
Shelly Pa
Jim, Shelly, Paula ~ fiddleling with the camera, reloading batteries and film and extending "the pose"....sounds like a sensible plan to me!And, I am really believing that happened on purpose with Johnny Garcia!
Yeah right! Ok, ok I'll give you that one Jim!
hahahaha....just see to it that it happens again! and again! and again!
Oooooh, I get such joy seeing The Barn Contract back in Garth's hands.Just wish he'd taken the Cheyenne Frontiers Days blanket out of the bag and wrapped it around poor ole freezing Joyce!

Hi Vanessa ~
That is the original 8 page contract from September 1989 when Garth played The Barn in Sanford Florida along with some newspaper cliping and pictures of him playing there.

veryMaryliz, how'd you get that?
Vanessa![]()
Vanessa~
A friend of mine who has been following Garth's career, since almost day one, had it. He was friends with the lady & her husband who owned "The Barn". After she passed away, the family was cleaning out the office and found this original contract. Because of his devotion to Garth they gave it to him, along with newspaper articles and photos. My friend went into the seminary last year and sent me his whole "Garth collection". When I saw this, I just knew it had to get back to Garth ~ as it is his history and needs to be in the Garth Brooks museum when it is completed.
Garth was amazed and seemed somewhat flabbergasted when he saw it, the newspapers and photos. He thanked me for "intrusting it back" to him, then he said, he realized I could have sold it and made a "handsome amount". I told him I have had offers to buy it, but no amount of money could have persuaded me to sell it. He assured me it would get preserved and into the museum. He said until then, he will keep it at GBM.
He was especially tickled with the pictures, where he still had lots of black hair! Also, on this contract were Garth's handwritten notes for "Uncle Joe's phone #" which he said (sadly and reminiscently) he called "millions of times", his staging for everyone, sound mixing & lighting set-ups and even the "beverages" the band and crew wanted along with a request for "8 brand new hand towels!" A very interesting piece of memorabilia/history!
It is finally back where it belongs!
Mary Liz
Several people from PG saw it, maybe they will give you their feeling/impressions of it. I personally, thought it was pretty awesome.

Thanks Maryliz- for that brief time travel back into history! Would anyone like to share their feelings/impressions of it?
Vanessa![]()
Vanessa,
I saw the contract and newspaper articles. I was amazed that they were in pretty good condition, considering their age. It was strange to see Garth so YOUNG...IMHO he looks and even sounds better now than he did then, more mature.
The thing that impressed me the most was Mary Liz, I know Mary Liz is a fan...but I think anyone who was only a fan would have kept it for themselves...Mary Liz is, IMO, a FRIEND to Garth. Knowing how special it would be to him, and wanting him to have it.
Mary Liz, you are truely a special person.
