EMI/Time Warner Merger Collapses

The proposed merger of EMI and Time Warner -- which would have brought the EMI, Capitol, and Virgin labels into the Warner Music Group family-- was terminated by the companies this morning (Oct. 5), amid speculation that the European Commission was set to veto the joint
venture.

"EMI Group and Time Warner have today informed the European Commission's Merger Task Force that they are withdrawing their current application for approval of the proposed combination of EMI Music and Warner
Music Group," an EMI statement reads.

Tommy,

For the first time in a long time I do not know what to think. Guess it all depends on how this will effect Garth and the Chris Gaines project, if indeed it will have any effect at all.
So for now I will just sit back and wait.
