If you've talked to me online lately..You know what's wrong with me! LOL. I know the songs I've written lately were a little..uhh..well, not so up-tempo! With the exception of "I'd Rather Be". LOL! This one kinda reflects what's been going on in my "teenage blues" life lately, ha, but not the ending..k? Be sure to "Give me everything you've got, alright?" It's appreciated! :)

Let Go

You clasp your hands and hit the ground
After five long years of being dragged around
By the only man that you had ever loved…
A hollow cry escapes your lips
The salty tears on your fingertips
Eyes to the sky, praying to the heavens above…

It hits you in the morning the moment you rise
Pictures of him forever imprinted in your mind
Never knew the sadness he would bring
Thought you’d be together, joined by a ring
You thought wrong, ‘cause girl, it ain’t so
He’s gone. Out of reach…Got to let go.

A lump in your throat at the sound of his name
A broken heart, aching from never-ending pain
Going completely out of your mind…
The smell of his cologne still lingers on the air
Reminding you of times when he was there
Questions of how one could ever be so blind…

Bridge:
He said that you two could
Last forever and he would
Love you ‘til, the day that he dies
You thought what you’d found was
That infamous river of love
But it was only a stream of lies

You awake to find you can’t take anymore
Get up and walk through the bathroom door
And you notice the bottle of pills by the sink…
You clench the bottle with all of your might
Say a prayer and look up into the light
Take them and fall into an eternal sleep…

It used to hit you in the morning, the moment that you’d rise
Pictures of him with you, stayed imprinted in your mind
But you never knew the sadness he would bring
Thought you’d be together, forever, joined by a ring
You thought wrong, as the tombstone now shows
You’re gone. Out of reach…Just couldn’t let go.
