Hey guys! Believe it or not, Nash aka MDGarthGirl has inspired me once again. I wrote this song while talking to her online tonight, and it just kinda seemed to fit who she is...a great writer who is bound for Nashville. :) Anyway, thought I'd share it with ya'll. "Give me everything ya got, alright?" ;) It goes a little something like this....

Opening Night

Little country girl in her wranglers and boots
Playin’ Tulsa City Limits and Incahoots
Singin’ her heart out on every tune
Hopin’ she’ll get her big break soon

As she sings, she gets lost in the crowd
She can’t help but think of a few years from now
Ain’t it funny how fast things can change?
Now she’s moved her show to a much bigger stage

Who ever thought she’d get this far,
After playing for years in a small town bar.
Where the men drank and socialized
And the women talked about their lives
Never giving a chance to that girl on the stage,
Singin’ about workin’, beers, and minimum wage
Well here she is and it’s time to do this right
She’s ready to go on opening night.

She’s dressed in her best and can’t help but grin
As the people pull up and start comin’ in
This is what she’s dreamed since she was young
But if she only knew that it’s just begun

Bridge:
And as the music starts to play she loses all fear
Reaches to her face and wipes away a tear
As she steps onto the stage, the crowd begins to cheer
She’s never wanted to be, anywhere but here

But who ever thought she’d get this far,
After playing for years in a small town bar.
Where the men drank and socialized
And the women talked about their lives
Never giving a chance to that girl on the stage,
Singin’ about workin’, beers, and minimum wage
Well here she is and it’s time to do this right
She’s ready to go on opening night.
