This is what I found at Countrycool.com :)

quote:
BAT OUT OF NASHVILLE? - According to Allstar, one of the key figures behind the 37 million-selling Meatloaf album, Bat Out Of Hell, wants to release a country version of the classic 1977 album. Jim Steinman, the writer and producer of Bat Out Of Hell, says that he wants some of country's biggest stars including, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks & Dunn, Dixie Chicks, George Jones and Shania Twain, to re-record tunes from that album as country songs. So far, no artists have committed to the project, which would be called Bat Out Of Nashville. More details will be reported as they become available.

Now who is Meatloaf? Is he a rocker?

TommyN

That is something that I would love to hear. :) :) I really think Meatloaf is good. I think that Garth would be good singing, "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad", "Paradise By the Dashboard Light", "Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer than they ARe", and "I'll do Anything For Love(But I won't do that)"N

quote:
I can see Garth doing "I'll do anything for love (But I won't do that)"

It is allright, but not the best from Meatloaf, and in this case it dosen't matter as it is not a part of the "Bat out of Hell"-album. :)
N

Cheryl
Thanks for the lyrics, that album is a classic. Got some free tickets to see him about 5 years ago, he had a new album he was trying to flog, but all the audience wanted was "Bat out of Hell". He got quite agro with the audience for not getting in the groove of the new album, but they warmed after he started up the old stuff.
He's a big guy, defininitely American through and through - not British.
Moves around on stage like Orson Wells on valium - very uninspiring!!!!
;) AnaN

I Love Meatloaf1
Can't you just hear Trisha singing the woman's part on "I Would do Anything for Love" and "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights"?
I have his cd "The Very Best of Meatloaf." It includes the two I mentioned plus, "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth", "Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through" and "Bat Out of Hell". 18 songs on the CD total.
You may have seen him in some movies recently. He was in "Fight Club" with Brat Pitt and Ed Norton.
I'd love to hear country stars do his music!
AngelaN

I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way, I'm ever gonna have you, so don't be sad, cause two out of three ain't bad'.... I love it. :) Ok, I didn't sing it to myself even, cause I can't stand to hear myself sing. lol. Some of the other songs would be awesome too.
Have a Garthriffic day,
Ellie :)N
