I was wondering something. Fancy is one of my favorite songs by Reba and the last two times that I have heard it on the radio, the middle verse isn't there. The verse I'm talking about goes something like this, not sure of it exactly,
"Wasn't very long before a benevolent man took me in off the streets, 3 weeks later I was pouring his tea in a 5 room kitchenette sweet"
Like I said not sure it these are the exact lyrics, but the last 2 times that I have heard the song it wasn't there.
Does anyone know why? Did Reba re-release the song and take out the verse? Just curious.
Thanks in advance :)N

They do the same thing on my radio stations, too...they say it's because the song is so long :( Personally, I think it ruins the song because then it doesn't tell the whole story. Also, IMO, it isn't any longer than most songs out there.
Brian...the song is about a poor mother who sold her daughter to these men (kind of like a prostitute) so that the girl would have money after the mother died.N

Thanks for the reply.
BigGfan4life,
I totally agree with you, that it ruins the song. It leaves you hanging in a way, what happened to Fancy? I don't see where the song is too long, like you said it ain't no longer than other songs out there.
I do disagree with you about the meaning of the song in one aspect. The mother didn't sell her, but she just sent her to the streets to live, because she wasn't able to provide for her. N

Just to put my 2 cents in. The last part of the verse is a 5 room hotel suite. :)
NikkiN
