I also love Collin's music (Garth will always be number 1 though). My all time favorite Collin song is "Love Me". What a powerful and moving song. I just cry every time I hear it. Would love to see him in concert sometime. Don't think he has come to PA very much. I'll have to keep an eye out for him! N

O.K I LOVE Colin Raye. My first song that "sold" me was I want you bad. But, I personally NOW love "Still Feel You" and "Little Rock". Colin is an absolute excellent vocalist. I really wish he could get "out there" more and do some venues.
He is one of my if not "the" fav. song writer/singer ever.
Great topic.N

To: KYGRL
Yeah, Collin is a great voicalist, no doubt about that. Well, it seems Collin really needs to get "out there" and do more concerts and all that. Hahahaaha...
Well, he does have some small concerts and if you want to know more about the concerts, please go to: http://www.collin-raye.com/
I think Collin certainly deserve more attention, but I don't know why he isn't as famous I thought he would be. I guess that's because he is too "quiet" and too busy doing those child fundraising stuff...hahahaa, but I respect what he does. It's just that he could have done more to his fans, Collinators. N

Thanks for the website info. Collin Raye is great, "Love Me" was a big part of why I started listening to country again. But I have to agree with Ginmyheart- "In this life" is my favorite song. BTW- just got his Direct Hits CD and it is fantastic. N

At the risk of sounding like a repeat, Garth is #1 :), but Collin Raye is great. I've seen him twice in concert and both times loved him. My favorite Collin song has to be "I Think About You". I have a 10 year old daughter with big blue eyes and that song really hits home. The video really makes me think about what life has in store for my daughter...it's VERY powerful.
TammyN
was anyone watching Tnn last night when Collin sang a new song called the 11th Commandment? It's a song about child abuse and it was really powerful. I've only heard it once so I can't say it's my fav, but I does strike a chord.N

Yes, 11th Commandment is a very powerful song! The way Collin sings it is even more emotional. I love it!N

"I Can Still Feel You" is a great song. Before that I loved "Little Red Rodeo." Before that I really loved "I'm On The Verge" (a GREAT song, especially being such a late release on the album). I'm not sure what I like the most before these. I guess I'll have to go listen to Direct Hits to refresh my memory...Little Rock comes to mind first though...great song!N

I have to confess I really do not know a great deal of his music but when I saw the topic of this thread I instantly knew I had to respond and cast my vote for "Love Me". I see a number of you agree. It really is a powerful song telling of enduring love- the kind we all pray to know.
N

I can Still Feel You, is a great song. Little Rock is also good and has a great message. N
I love Colin Raye also but have only seen him in concert once.He never seems to come to my area.I really can't oick just one song but thought I'd share some info on "I Can Still Feel You".The songwriter of this song was Colins ex-girlfriend and apparently it was written about the relationship she had with him. That makes me really listen to the words and realized that it was coming from someones heart(I think her name is Tammy).N

Yeah, the song "I Can Still Feel You" is written by Tammy. She also wrote "It Could Happen Again" in Collin's Christmas album. "It Could Happen Again" is a great song. It talks about soldiers and it's a very touching song. I highly recommand Collin's "The Gift". It's a great Christmas album! Collin sure sings well. N

This has got to be the toughest question anyone could ever ask... all of Collin's songs are soooo damn good! I guess I'd have to admit to a soft spot for "Love, Me" though, since that was the very first Collin song that I heard, and it was the one that got me absolutely hooked on him. Now I just can't get enough of Collin! =) But I also love "One Boy, One Girl"... the chorus absolutely sends chills down my spine! And "That Was A River" is such a wonderful sweet song to sing along with. "I Can Still Feel You" just gets stuck in my head and stays there for days! And then there's "Someone You Used To Know", which has great lyrics, and I love to sing to it! "Every Second" just makes me want to bounce up and down. Then there are the more "serious" songs, such as "Eleventh Commandment"... now that is a song that makes you think if there ever was one. "Little Rock" also carries a great message. And the chorus to "Not That Different" is so touching and true. =*) Other great Collin Raye songs are "The Gift"... fantastic song!, "In This Life"... sweetes lyrics!, "If I Were You"... just awesome!, "Survivors"... a sure hit for anyone whose been through a long and tough yet worthwhile relationship. Heck, every Collin Raye song is great! I love them all to death. I can't stop listening to Collin Raye... Oh, and if you want some energetci bouncy songs, just pop in "My Kind Of Girl" or "That's My Story" (hilarious). And another song that really makes you thnk if "What If Jesus Comes Back Like That". Collin Raye is without doubt the most wonderful singer, country or otherwise, to ever be born on the face of this earth (OK OK, allow for a LITTLE exaggeration there! =D), and if you agree, e-mail me! There are just not enough Collinators in this world. I am trying to convert everyone I know, but so far it's been a slow go. I LOVE COLLIN RAYE!N

I've only heard one of Collin's albums, but mine are.
1.I Think About You
2.I Can Still Feel You
3.i can't remember the title, but it's the one about the barstool (same album as i think about you and what if jesus comes back like that)
4.Me And You (I think)
I think that's it. The album is actually my dads and I don't know where he put it. So I'm sorry if I got the title of the last one wrong. The chorus is "I laugh, I love, I hope, I try. I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same things too, so we're really not that different. Me and you.
NikkiN

Hi yourmama (love your screen name :) )
Next to Garth, Collin is just about my favorite country artist! I was lucky enough to go see him, in concert, about a month and a half ago. (I posted it in this forum) He was AWESOME! :D
I love all his stuff but my most favorites are...
1. Love me
2. 11th Commandment
3. What if Jesus comes back like that
4. I think about you
5. Little red rodeo
At the concert he sang just about everything he has ever recorded!
As for popularity, I think he is what you might call a critically acclaimed artist, because to him, what is most important is that he sing about what truly touches him. Like Garth, he sings from the heart. :)
One of my most favorite things about him is that he is very socially concious and not afraid to show it.....in other words he does not put his career over his beliefs. At the concert I attended he discussed the anti-childabuse foundation that he is the emabassador of, and then sang "The eleventh commandment", and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house by the time he finished the song.
Thanks for this topic!
CC :)N

CC,
Oh man, you are so right about Collin Raye!! He is just amazing. I feel bad that Collin isn't as famous as he should be. I checked out CMT's video schedule and they don't even play his videos. Sad, very sad. Collin has so many great videos like Love Me, Not That Different (about racism), Little Rock, I Think About You, I Can Still Feel You and of course, The Eleventh Commandment, which talks about childabuse. I think the media purposely ignores Collin Raye. He has so many #1 hits and yet he never wins anything. Sigh. Oh well, the Collinators produced a Tribute To Collin Raye cd and is already presented to him. Collin was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO touched. He said that nobody in the industry has ever received such a big gift from their fans. I guess the Collinators beat the record! LOL
mrcoffee (the best coffee in the world!)N
