Hi! can anyone help me.I have the chance to send a demo of my vocals to a recording company and the only way I can do it is with a tape player hooked up to the karaoke machine. will it make a difference in the quality of music sound?
Thanks for your help
BarbN
Hey
Did the record company ask for you to send it. Or are you just sending it blindly.
People at record labels are able to hear diamonds in the rough. Another words, if you took a tape player and had leann rimes sing in to it, you'd still hear a great voice.
As long as your vocals are clear. Nothing else matters. If they like you, they'll pay you to develop a better demo, if needed.
ScottN

Thankyou for the info :) I went to a Proscout interview Thursday and all they were looking for that night was models even though they advertized for singers to the person in charged said I would have to call this toll number and they would ask you to send a demo.Well I just want to see what would happened and you know.I wanted to see how much it cost first and if I could do it on tape with the DJ doing it.I wouldn't feel so bad if it didn't work. You know?
Thanks for your help.
Barb N

Hey Tommy :)
I can sing most anything I put my heart to,but I realy only want to do back up because I'm not that pretty and I think I would do much better and have a whole lot more fun doing back up. And anyway you can kick back and play jokes {at the right time}
I do Karen Carpenter realy good one time it was almost as if she was there instead of me
I do a wonderful job on male bashing songs they come so easyly to me.Really I guess I kick butt on them.
Barb
N

Barb-
No matter where you do a professional demo, it's gonna cost ya. You have to pay fer studio time, musicians (if you don't know of friends who will do it fer free) the engineer, ummmmmm.....the thing that will usually cost you the most is the studio time, if the musicians ain't too expensive. The demo I made in Nashville (which is being released to radio in about 2 months) cost me almost $3,000...BUT I also had THE best musicians in Nashville and it was with a record company.
All, in all, if the record company didn't ask specifically for a demo, send them a karaoke, 'cause you might not wanna spend the money until you know it's a good investment.

KristaN
