A person who I have communicated with, who wishes to remain anonymous, but whose rumors have been pretty accurate in the past :) It is a long way out, and the thought never crossed my mind, but wow!

It's certainly not a CRAZY rumor. It would make sense to do a 20th anniversary concert in Central Park AND it could possibly even fit the bill of being the last stop on the American leg of the World Tour. What a way to close it out.

an interesting idea.... would definitely make a great end to the american leg of his tour at the time...

I can imagine all the things that were supposed to be used/unveiled/brought out for Dublin could be put to use in one big blowout show...

I'd love to see it- BUT... . its way far out still, nothing concrete... great idea though.. And hey, Garth wouldn't have record label issues preventing him from releasing an album/being able to or wanting to play new music/new songs at this show :)

I wouldn't put much stock into this rumor. Looking at a current aerial view of Central Park, there's not a large enough open space that isn't a ball field to accommodate a concert.

Based on some of the aerial photos of the '97 show it looks like they put it on top of the existing baseball fields. So I don't think that would have to be much of an issue.

If I recall they used one of the huge wide open lawn areas and set up the custom stage with video screens and the like. Has the configuration of Central Park changed that drastically over the last 18 years? I mean obviously they were able to pull it off back in the 90s so it shouldn't be ALL that difficult to believe it could be done again.

The two triangular areas in the top left and the one to the right look like the same baseball diamonds at the northern end of the park if you check Google Maps.

How is he going to break records for another Central Park concert and that's what he's doing on this tour ? But then again, its Garth Brooks, nothing is impossible. A Central Park concert would be epic.

ehh, don't know that anyone's mentioned anything about record breaking- honestly, I sometimes wonder if Garth's concerned about record breaking- then again, sometimes I am sure he's still in the numbers game.. who knows..

if there's a will, there's a way.. heck, Garth could make it a free concert again, he'd make a mint in other ways.. don't know if it'd be as big as the last one was.. but wouldn't it be nice to see (ok this is kinda a selfish way to think but oh well) America benefit from Dublin's blunder?

It does seem this chapter is about himself having fun more than numbers. This could be true, but I don't see him doing something like this twice.

Maybe he'll do a concert at the Woodstock spot instead! HAHA
