View Full Version : Texas Stadium Is Gone (Garth Related)

This past Sunday at 7:00 AM, Texas Stadium, the former home of the Dallas Cowboys - and the place where I saw Garth Brooks walk through fire, sing in a simulated rainstorm and fly above the crowd during "Ain't Going Down" - was demolished.

As I watched the stadium collapse, I thought about that cool September night in 1993 and Garth giving his fans a spectacular show that I won't forget, and I don't think he will either. Other memories that crossed my mind included the Thanksgiving Day halftime performances from Carrie Underwood, Toby Keith, LeAnn Rimes, Clint Black, Reba McEntire and Randy Travis, and all the Cowboys' games that ended in victory there. So much history took place under the stadium with the hole in the roof "so Cowboy fans who are in Heaven can still watch their team play," as one put it, that it's hard to believe it's now a memory.

R.I.P. Texas Stadium - Thanks for the memories.

I loved how, on Fox & Friends Sunday, Garth Brooks was the first performer named in their list of concerts held at Texas Stadium!!!
