Country music needs Garth Brooks

As Garth Brooks belted out the final bars of his classic "Friends in Low Places," the crowd broke into wild applause.

That was an impressive feat considering Brooks was 700 miles away from where the theater crowd in Maumee was watching live his sold-out concert in Kansas City.

There had to be some anxiety in the Brooks camp when he signed on to have his Kansas City concert simulcast in more than 300 theaters around the country. There was probably concern that fans wouldn’t plunk down $10 to see video from a concert taking place hundreds of miles away.

i agree with you one hundred per cent!! i was thrilled to see the crowd at opry mills in nashville respond to garth as they did....no one but garth could get people across the country sing back to him in theaters!!

I loved the article. I really think country music needs garth back. I like Paisley, McGraw and Chesney but come on if you put all those guys together they might equal one Garth.

I agree 100%. We do need Garth. I was thinking yesterday that pretty much all of his songs are classic, you know? Everyone knows them, loves them, remembers them. Can you really say that about any of the newer artists? Not nearly to the degree you can with Garth Brooks!

I live in Toledo as well but I didn't go the the theatre. If I see Garth live it is live not on a screen. I can wait for it if it ever happens and I'll own the DVD at some point and watch it on GAC.
