Charity begins with homer - NY Post
Yankee fans are not alone rooting for Jason Giambi to have a career year. Giambi donates $1,000 with every home run he belts to the Touch Them All charity, which he partners with Garth Brooks. "At the end of the year with all the money we get, we pick a charity and give the money to it," Giambi said. "The cool thing is that every dime raised goes to the kids. Garth pays the people who work for the foundation with his own money." Entering today's game, Giambi has already donated $12,000, and when The Post's George King suggested he would be shelling out $50,000 by season's end, Giambi smiled and said: "That's fine by me!" Giambi, who has been Touching Them All for seven years, has been charitable to the sweet tune of $219,000.
