View Full Version : Garth Guitar -- My big break??

03-20-2005, 04:02 PM
I am getting overwhelming response from my demo "The Dream". To everyone requesting on their radio station. Thanks!! Keep it up. Maybe those big wigs in Nashville will catch wind of what's happening. For those whose radio stations don't have it yet, here's the link again. Feel free to burn as many copies as you wish. This is just a demo, it's free!

Thanks again to everyone requesting!

I just moved this thread from the main GB forum to "Other Artists".

Here is another that I wrote. Don't think it could be a single, but it was fun to write. I actually wrote this with my kids a couple of summers ago in my front yard having a yard sale.

Here's a few covers that I ripped off from Garth.

You have a great voice! Absolutely loved your Elton John and Billy Joel covers, and I'm a huge Elton fan! And a Trisha cover, yay! "The Dream" is a very well-written song, in my amateur opinion...sort of reminded me of "If Tomorrow Never Comes" for some reason...I really liked it. "Yardsale" made me smile :)

Keep singing!

Sorry everyone for the problem. I've had overwhelming response to my songs. I exceeded my daily download allowance at ripway. I have upgraded my account and tripled my allowance. Hopefully this will be enough. If you can't get it, try agin later. Thanks!! Toby

Well Toby... I gotta hand it to you... I work in radio and I've never had anyone email in and request themselves before -- Until I saw your email today. LOL

Where did you see that at?? I don't remember making any requests. I have sent the link to "The Dream" to a few stations. Maybe I hit the wrong eMail link. Oh well. Did they play it?? Thanks!

LOL!! Did ya play it, J? If so, I missed it! :D

I would think that requesting your own song would be a pretty common thing in Nashville. LOL!! Seems everyone in that town has a strategy. That's pretty funny that I requested my own song. You know I've probably did it at more than one station, because some sites don't have direct eMail. Anyway, thanks again for playing it if you did!! Which XM channel are you on? I listen to XM all week on the road.

You sent the request through Channel 10, America.

I'm not on air. Unless I have a reason to grab a mic and heckle Jon...

Cool! I'll have to check it out. Thanks again!
