They raised 1.8 million for tsunami aid. I would think a press release would be coming soon.

01-25-2005, 12:17 AM
I wonder why they are waiting so mnay days after to say something since it sounds like it was a great event that did a very great thing for helping the victims in the tsunamis.

I wonder if Garth said whether he will or will not be doing spring training at his anual event? Anybody know?

Briteys & Musiccity, where are y'all getting this info? I haven't been able to find anything. Please fill us in! :)

01-25-2005, 08:25 PM
I heard it from Rusty Jones.

01-25-2005, 10:57 PM
I also heard Aerosmith performed.

01-25-2005, 11:41 PM
I also heard Aerosmith performed.
Didn't hear nothing about Aerosmith being there. Where'd that come from?

01-26-2005, 12:04 AM
It was REO Speedwagon that played. And of course, Garth and Trisha. Sounds like a cool event! They expect the total raised for tsunami relief to be over $2 million. Garth won the bid for Curt Schilling's world series jersey and stuff, then gave the goodies to an 8 year old sick boy in the audience. I heard that Garth also auctioned his steston hat for $52,000. I can't believe that there hasn't been any news yet. I'm sure there will be though. It's been a week and a half!

It doesn't seem like there's ever any press on Garth's T4K events... I think he must like it this way? We hate it. :D

01-26-2005, 12:21 AM
It was at AllGarth.

-sandiI agree. :(

01-26-2005, 11:09 PM
The T4K shindig is every Jan around Martin Luther King weekend!!!

My bet is Garth likes it just the way it is... without fan fair!!! OR the press...

Wether we like it or not!!!

On Donny & Marie, Donny had asked him a question about the inscription on the inside cover of his 2nd Christmas album, about One Voice (I think)... and Garth commented that he doesn't like the charity work to be a public thing. And it makes sense, really. But I still don't like it. :D We miss out on Garthy stuff. :D But he doesn't do it for the fans... so it makes sense. :) But I still don't like it. ;) *hehehehehe*

01-27-2005, 02:23 PM
Oh Rooster I totally agree with you!! I don't like it one bit either!!

We recently found out that Garth and Trisha were in NYC for a fund raiser and some of us were like... couldn't he let us know so we could have said "Hi"!! lol

01-27-2005, 08:34 PM
I miss them too, but I'm glad he's going about his charity work without fan fare. Face it, if the TFK event got a lot of press coverage the rags would be back hot and heavy with the 'coming out of retirement' crap. It's nice to hear about him still working with and for kids. Giving the child the Curt Schilling stuff just made me beam. That's our Garth!

A good friend of mine sent me the link to the pics of them a few weeks back. Since she works at the Venetian where they stayed, dhe thought I might like to check out the pics. I'll attach the link she sent me so I hope it loads for everyone....Hope you enjoy it.

How many pages of photos was that??? Everyone is smiling and looks so happy to be there. And Garth never looked better than he does in that Teammates shirt and without his hat.

I don't know who all those people were, though some looked a touch familiar to me. Makes me wish I could be more a part of Teammates and helping the kids. :)

Thanks so much for posting that link! Wow they look great and its so cool to see new pictures of them, they look awesome.

01-27-2005, 11:19 PM
Quite a few pictures...thanks for the link! I wonder what else is at the Teammates site that isn't linked. They really need to update it with more current information. The newsletter there is still from 2002.

01-28-2005, 12:10 AM
Yeay!! They both look so wonderful... thanks for the link!

01-28-2005, 12:47 AM
I agree with Dale. Garth looks great in that T4K shirt and no hat. He has the greatest smile. Thanks for the link and sharing those pictures.

01-28-2005, 06:14 AM
My gosh... judging by how many pics there were... it looks like it was just a photo session. :D

Thanks a whole bunch for the link! :)

I don't know who all those people were, though some looked a touch familiar to me.

The only one I recognized was Actor/Comedian Jay Mohr.

Let me add my thanks for the link! The pix of Garth in the T4K T-shirt are my favorites! ;)

Awesome!! Those are the greatest pics! Well ok, all pics or Garth and Trisha are great, but wow, there were so many!! It was a Fanatastic Trisha/Garth Fix! And they both look absolutely Awesome!! Thanks so much for posting this link! I also think it's cool that Garth/Trisha do so much charity stuff-without expecting any press from it...it means so much more when it's done without any expectations...very cool Garth!!

01-28-2005, 04:56 PM
Wow, that was alot of pics...thanks so much for the link.:)
They're both looking fabulous as usual.:D

01-28-2005, 09:54 PM
Good heavens... what a lot of smiling that was for them. Must have been a "get your picture taken with Garth" included with the ticket price.

I was hoping to see a hockey player or two that I recognized, but I didn't. Nor did I see anyone from the Capitol-Nashville staff.

Usually he brings Stillwater out there for the performance, did anyone hear if he did this year? I'll be seeing Jimmy in a couple of weeks... I'll try to remember to ask.

No sweat Folks, Glad I was able to post the link. Just a little bit of other info on the pics and suck. From talking with my Friends they have all said what GREAT GRACIOUS DOWN TO EARTH AND NICE People Garth and Trisha were. They seemed to always take time to chat with anyone in the casino, take pictures, or just smile and wave. I didnt catch how long they were in town but I believe they visit Vegas 3-4 times a year. Everyone said that they just blend in like the rest of us too, lol.

Again, Very glad you all have enjoyed the link. Most of the people in the pics are Teammates For Kids board members, people that attend this funtion, and maybe a few industry people.

On last thing, I cant believe how beautiful Trisha looked in the Pics. You can tell what a great bond they have between them also....

If I come across anymore pics or links, I'll post them......

Have a great weekend Everybody...

01-29-2005, 12:04 PM
Thanks for the link. And I have to agree that I like the pictures with the t-shirt, no hat the best. I'm just happy to see him looking health, handsome, and happy:)

01-29-2005, 01:16 PM
All I can is WOW!!!

01-29-2005, 08:52 PM
I love that photo! Poor Garth has a 'Charlie Brown' face on a very fit and lean body!!! I get so irritated when people describe him as 'chubby' based on his facial shape.
