Whiter Teeth for Tods
Len Rome's Local Health

For the past six years, thousands of dentists across the country and several in the valley have taken part in a special program for children's charities.

Doctors Rudy and Mark Braydich of Hubbard will present a check this week for $6,400 to Tod Children's Hospital.

It's all part of the Smiles For Life campaign.

For four months this year, the two dentists offered to whiten patients' teeth at a greatly reduced cost, donating their time and labor.

The patients paid the dentists nothing but instead made out their checks to the Smiles program.

Half of the check's value went to Tod Children's Hospital.

"Individually we have contributed to the hospital in the past and we felt this way, as an office collectively, we could make even a bigger impact for Tod's," says Dr. Rudy Braydich.

The other half the check went to the National Garth Brooks Foundation for children.

The dentists used what's called the zoom system, whitening teeth by up to 8 shades, brightening the smiles of nearly a hundred patients who took advantage of the program.

Both dentists say they plan to join the Smiles for Life campaign again next spring.
