This is interesting:

Male country artists have fared less well. Only Garth Brooks (news) and Tim McGraw (news) have charted during this time, and they did so with songs that were not country hits. The previous male country group to chart was Lonestar, which peaked at No. 2 with "I'm Already There" in 2002.

but which Garth song and Tim McGraw song made this chart that females seem to dominate over male country artists? I don't understand.

Sorry but I'm Already There was number 1 for 6 weeks.

I'm guessing - purely guessing - it was When You Come Back To Me Again. When did that come out? That's the only thing I can think of that might have been an AC hit but not a country one in that time.

Crosis, I'm Already There was a 6 week county #1, but this article is talking about the Adult Contemporary chart.

It confused me the way the article hopped back and forth on dates. Maybe it was a Chris Gaines tune?

To Make You Feel My love

When You Come Back To Me Again
