These are short clips, but very cool! They're from the CRS luncheon that Garth did.

Great pictures . I'd love to know what he was thinking in some of those pics. His face is very expressive.

What was that Garth was quoting in the first clip about leading the children to the light and the soul you gamble? It cuts off before he finishes.

Those are great! Thanks, Ann!

OMG! That was someone taking video clips with their Sony Mavica digital camera! LMAO! I love it! (Wish I'd thought of it!)

The lyrics he's quoting in the first clip is the example he gave of his depressing songwriting at the time. I believe the quote was something about Edgar Allen Poe on downers?

Great find Ann!

OMG I totally forgot he did Country Bumpkin! I remember him talking about it, but I forgot he sang it!

Isn't that Garth's all time favorite country song? I seem to remember a story of Garth sitting in his living room with the famous author/singer who gave his own award away of the song to Garth?

Very Cool !!!!!!

"I'll leave my light on for you, if you will leave your light on for me"

Isn't that Garth's all time favorite country song? I seem to remember a story of Garth sitting in his living room with the famous author/singer who gave his own award away of the song to Garth?I think that happened on one of the older versions of the Crook & Chase shows when both Cal Smith and Garth were guests. They were both sitting on a couch.

...and yes, that is his favorite country song.

Yes, that's how it came up..... there was a Q&A session with the audience and someone asked what his favorite country song was.... He said something about with all due respect to He Stopped Loving Her today.... yada yada yada.

I think an article I wrote on this is in the news archives.... let me see if I can find it for a walk down (loosing my) memory lane.

By the way, Ann, I forgot to thank you for finding and sharing this. You've been coming up with some gems.

I took a look at some of the 65 still pictures of Garth at the CRS that are also at that site and have a question...what in the word is this supposed to be?

That was the point of the show where the aliens came and landed on the stage, and said he was going to retire from the music industry or he would be taken to their planet....

Here's the article: http://www.planetgarth.com/news/article.php?cid=00944

I think I'm gonna have to dig out some pics... I might have one that could possibly explain the green....

09-17-2003, 12:16 AM
Nope.... it's definately the aliens.

I do however, have this....

That's our Garth...a man of many hues.

09-17-2003, 12:19 AM
Ok, ok, you've put up with me this long... here's a Non-smurf Garth too....

09-17-2003, 12:22 AM
Garth feels pretty... oh so pretty....

09-17-2003, 12:25 AM
Ok, I confess..... I turned him pink on purpose just now. But for some reason, I did have a very blue photo that served as Smurf Garth, completely untouched by me.

I'm way too goofy tonight....... time for bed.

Those are some cool pictures and clips.
One of the clips has Garth singing part of the song "Pains"
that can be found on the songwriters tribute to him.
It was written by DeWayne Blackwell & Earl "Bud" Lee.
If you've never heard it , well, its a takeoff of FILP but its
about "Pains in Low Places" LOL.
I just cant get over Garth singing that!
Take care yall......
