Is anybody out there watching it right now? The pre-show party was pretty good,MG rocked the crowd as usual!! The actual show is starting right now so how about some thoughts about what's happening !!

Hi Leelee:)
I just turned it on as I just remembered it was on. Joe Nichols just won for BrokenHeartsville:) That's a great song. Good for him!
Be back later with more comments.

Hey Susan,I love that song too, always thought that it was kinda a Garthy FILP like song!! :applause: to Joe!!

Only thing I haven't cared for is the lack of clothes that both Pamela and Kid Rock have had on!!

AGGGG Kenny...naked feet....yuck!

"Only thing I haven't cared for is the lack of clothes that both Pamela and Kid Rock have had on!!"

Missed that...anybody got that on tape? :p

The only complaint I have so far is seeing way too much of TOBY:rolleyes:

Maybe someone can enlighten me on why Pamela Anderson is co-hosting this show:confused:

Observation: Alan Jackson had knees in his jeans:D

I think you are confusing the Naked Cowboy for Kid Rock. They have the same hair, but they are different people. I thought people might think that was Kid--lol.

A lot of interesting comments made about keith urban--lol.

I might be the only one but I enjoyed hearing Shania and Alison Krauss sing together. I am not a Shania fan so this is good for me.

I totally forgot this was on. I'm watching the wrap up show right now. The one thing I was looking forward to was the Kid Rock / Sheryl Crow performance.

Toby just came on the wrap up show - who dressed him? He had to throw in a Natalie crack out of the blue, Lance just skipped past it.

You're not the only one Elaine, I thought they did a great job together:)

Joyce, I can't believe you missed the Toby show;)
I love this duet by Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow, I really liked their performance.

When they were showing Johnny Cash's video and there was alot of voice overs making comments about Johnny, it might be my imagination or lack of hearing Garth but I thought it was Garth saying "he's the epitimy(sp?) of cool." That sounds like something Garth would say, doesn't it??
Somebody that taped it....listen closely and see if it was Garth.

WOOHOO!!! Good for Toby, I think I've seen him get three awards tonight. Loved the last two songs he sung.

Also....It was so nice to see Daryl Worley get a standing O for "Have you forgotten."

I wish Terri Clark would've won, but oh well....

I thought it was a really good show.

I dont know why in the wotld TK and Pam are hosting this dang show!

I didnt like the fact that Keith urban didnt win :( but he did get to present!

I think that overall it was a good awards show.. just too many commercials *lol*

I also think that kid rock and sheryl crow did a really good job together.. I loved that naked cowboy ;)

god and peace,
Vanessa ;)

Okay I was wrong and it wasn't Kid Rock, but who and what is the Naked Cowboy, can anyone explain it to me,or is it just something that flew over my head in a ditzy moment or something???? #-o

And I know I heard Garth once during the Johnny Cash tribute,he said something about swinging the sword to the end or something like that.

About the casual dress at the show,I kinda enjoyed it myself not seeing everybody dripping in diamonds and designer styles, made me feel like they we're all there for a b-b-que or something instead of an awards show!!

I went to the show last night, had a blast. I heard that you couldn't hear the crowd on tv and that no one heard but everytime the Dixie Chicks name came up the whole crowd booed. I thought it was way too cruel.

I havent' seen it on TV yet so I don't know if you could see the amazing standing and clapping through out Daryl Worleys complete performance it was amazing. The whole crowed cheered and clapped throught the whole song, very cool.

I saw some of the red carpet and outside show. Trick Pony, Faith Hill and Kenny Chesney all came over to the crowd and signed autograhps for a while. They had to pull Faith away it was cute. I think she looked great.

Don't know if you could see it but during Kennys song he kicked one of the beach balls right into Tim Mcgraws face after they went to commerical Tim threw it back at Kenny they are like little kids its funny.

I really enjoyed Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow that was great performance.

After Toby sang we went down on the floor and got to watch the stars leave. There was an after party outside in a huge tent. We tried to get in but that didn't happen..LOL
but we did get to see Sheryl Crow walk in.

It was a really fun show :) I will have to see it on TV now.

Jen, it seemed like they took the sound off or added in cheers whenever the Dixie Chicks were mentioned. I don't think they wanted to take any chances with the audience. Can't say I blame them. It was an audience full of Toby fans and he's doing a good job of keeping the hate going. Gotta love that.

As for the Naked Cowboy--don't know a whole lot about him (thankfully). But, I know he's a street performer in NYC who just walks around in his underwear singing songs. He was on a bunch of talk shows in the 90s--like Sally Jesse or Jerry Springer--shows like that.

I was really disappointed the Keith Urban didn't win anything. thankfully he got to at least present an award and I got to hear that wonderful accent. :) Can't wait till his Fan club Party. :)
ANd WOOHOO to TOby for 3 awards for Courtesy Of The Red White and Blue. My husband's Commander had his retirement dinner last night so I taped the show last night. I fast forwarded thru most of it this morning. I was happy Martina won. :)

It was a pretty good show. I thought about you Joyce when they were showing Montgomery Gentry, thinking, you must be loving this pre-show. lol. I don't know why Pam Anderson was there too. When Brett Butler was presenting, she kept calling her Pamela Sue??lol. Brett was funny, I thought. I thought Pam coulda put on more clothes, and Toby some dressier clothes. That was the first time I heard 'Courtesy of the Red White and Blue, and 'The Fighting Side Of Me'. I really liked Cheryl and Kid Rocks' performance. Love that song. The naked cowboy had a nice butt. I noticed that this awards show seemed to be geared to the younger crowd. I thought it was going to be another Tim and Faith show. Did Tim in one of his acceptance speeches say thank you to 'his buddy, Garth'? I had just flipped the channel and just caught 'buddy, Garth' and when I flipped it back, I missed it. I'm glad Martina won too. I like Concrete Angel.

Leelee, Toby was saying that he hand picked the gal who hands the awards and escorts the presenters and winners off the stage. Pam said she hand picked one too.. the naked cowboy. That was it.

04-08-2003, 05:17 PM
Tim did mention a Garth but Not our Garth he said it was his waredrobe guy. but I got all excited for a secound when I heard it too.

04-08-2003, 05:36 PM
You know, it never occurred to me before Ellie, but I guess Courtesy of the Red White & Blue wasn't a single over there and CMT Canada didn't play the video?

Totally makes sense, I just hadn't thought about it before.

04-09-2003, 02:32 PM
LOL. You're right, Joyce. I've never seen the video for it here. The Fighting Side Of Me, I only heard of when I saw it as part of a tribute on an country award show. Was it Charlie Daniels' song, when Garth did the presentation a few years ago? If it was, it was before my time. lol.

04-09-2003, 08:47 PM
Pam- Im so mad that keith didnt win :( altho he looked good up there presenting..dont you agree.. btw.. he was/is on cmt's mwl star this week! :D he looked sooooo yummy..he got a new tatoo :D

I talked to my customer last night who excitedly updated me on his trip to take his wife to the Flameworthy Awards. Not only did they get to do the red carpet, talked to Faith Hill, but they mostly hung out with Troy Gentry! He said Montgomery had promised his wife to stay home more instead of being out drinkin'late. So I assume he went home early or couldn't make it. :) Sure wish I had more than just a few short moments with my customers so I could get ALL the details! But at least they are willing to talk to me and share from their lives. I know I really enjoyed watching the awards, knowing these artists are out there taking care of the music and the fans. It's very refreashing to see that as a very vital connection and I hope the trend continues.
