When you don’t say a word
Would you like to know
Just what I hear
when you don’t say a word?
Does the small gasp
I know you hear
Somehow let you know
I won’t let go
When times are tough
Or days are bright
You’ll make my day or night
With a silent show of caring
Sometimes it can be rock
Sometimes it makes that
Ol’ ache, ache even harder
Even then I still hold on
It’s like a drink
of cool clear water
Or sparks a memory
From a sweet dream
I didn’t want to wake up from
And so I won’t hang up
Even when I can’t talk
Cos I want you to know
That I feel the same way.
