I was there too:)
Great pictures....she is looking really good:)

Now don't get too upset with me about this but I found her concert a tad boring:( I've never seen Trisha in concert before and was really looking forward to it but I think alot had to do with the symphony orchestra playing behind her. It was a very tasteful and classy kind of show but not very crowd pleasing in my opinion. I don't know maybe it was the mood I was in that night or something but I just found she talked too much in between songs and I could have done without the Judy Garland songs...especially for her encore. Mind you, she sang the crap out of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow.":)
I realize that she can't put on a pair of wranglers and run around the stage in front of an orchestra but I'm sure she's alot more easy going with just her band. I'd love to see her again...minus the orchestra!

Hey Susan,

I saw your post about Trisha's concert at Casino Rama on the 19th and I had to post a reply because I have to say that the word "boring" and Trisha should not even be allowed to be said in the same sentence. I was lucky enough to get to go to both shows on the 18th and the 19th. Originally, when the tickets went on sale, Ticketmaster was only selling tickets for the 19th which was confusing me as radio and her website were saying she was going to be there for two nights. As I later found out, the 18th was the grand opening of the hotel they just built there so there were a lot of dignitaries and suits at the 18th show. I did end up going on the 18th although the seats weren't that good, because any available tickets were released about two weeks prior to that show. I had centre floors, eight rows back from the stage on the 19th. I have been a Trisha fan ever since She's In Love With the Boy but, like you, I had never seen her live. I couldn't even imagine that she could sound any better live than she did on her CD's but boy was I wrong. I can honestly say I have never heard a voice like hers, especially live, and it's almost like when I listen to her CD's now, they don't do her justice once you have heard her sing live. She has the best voice of any female country music singer, bar none, and I became an even bigger fan after seeing her, if that's possible. I also cannot even picture any other female country singer being able to hold their own with an orchestra the way Trisha did. She really has a voice that could sing anything but I have to say that with the orchestra she really is in her element. I think if you are expecting to see someone running across the stage and lights and explosions then you shouldn't be going to a Trisha concert. I was so mesmerized by her and her voice during both concerts that the building could have been burning down around me and as long as she was still singing, I would have stayed right there in my seat. NOTHING could have pried me out of my seat while she sang. After seeing both shows the only difference I saw between them was the audience. There were a lot of older people at the 18th show so they were more reserved but I thought the audience on the 19th was so into her and she was so into the concert and did talk more on the 19th but I loved that part too. I could listen to her talk or sing or a week and it would still be too short. She was positively glowing on the 19th and is it any wonder after receiving SEVEN DOZEN roses from Garth for her birthday. He may or may not have been there in person but he was there in spirit and he definitely showed her just how much he loves her. The only thing I agree with you about is that I too would like to see her sing with just her band and that is not because I think she'd be better but only because based on the song lists that have been posted, I think we would get to hear her sing songs that we didn't hear at Casino Rama. I have to say that if she sang every song she'd ever recorded and then started singing the yellow pages, it still wouldn't be enough for me. Boring? I don't think so. Mesmerizing, fantastic, sensational and so much more? Yes!!!! I find that I cannot even put into words that do her justice, just how amazing she was. I would never pass up a chance to hear her sing again and I understand Garth's comments now when he says there is nothing he likes better than to watch her sing.

Hey Carol Ann

Good to see you have recovered from your Trisha shows, I know how amazing she is live and how it can take a while to come down from a show and seeing two in a row leaves you with an amazing high. Thanks for sharing your review of the show, I would LOVE to see Trisha perform with a full orchestra as I can only imagine it to be simply AMAZING and hearing those rare songs make it even more special for you. And it was too sweet that Garth sent her seven dozens roses and they were gorgeous. I have attached the photo for those interested as well as a link to the webpage of the lucky fan who had a meet and greet that night and took the photo.

Carol Ann,
I'm sorry if I offended you but at the same time we are all entitled to our own opinion. I didn't post to this thread to cause any problems...I was there and I thought I would share my feelings about the show.

like you, I had never seen her live. I couldn't even imagine that she could sound any better live than she did on her CD's but boy was I wrong.

I agree with you....she sounded great!!

I think if you are expecting to see someone running across the stage and lights and explosions then you shouldn't be going to a Trisha concert

That comment I made was just a figure of speech.....I just found that singing in front of that orchestra made for a more reserved show.

She was positively glowing on the 19th and is it any wonder after receiving SEVEN DOZEN roses from Garth for her birthday. He may or may not have been there in person but he was there in spirit and he definitely showed her just how much he loves her.

That is so great:) I was wondering what he might do being they were apart for her birthday.

The only thing I agree with you about is that I too would like to see her sing with just her band and that is not because I think she'd be better but only because based on the song lists that have been posted, I think we would get to hear her sing songs that we didn't hear at Casino Rama.

IMO, I think she'd be better with just her band for the reason you stated....she's probably alot more limited with an orchestra.
I guess that means that you don't agree that she sang the heck out of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" then??.....that was a compliment;)

Anyway, I still think, like you that Trisha has an amazing voice....I just didn't care for that style of show.

Susan,

If I gave you the impression that you were not entitled to your own opinion, than I apologize as that was not my intent. We all are entitled to our own opinions, it's what makes the world go 'round BUT because I too was at the concert I felt that I had to respond to the boring comment because I don't agree that there was a boring spot in her concert. After being a fan of Trisha's for so long and to finally see her live exceeded my expectations beyond my dreams. She truly is so gifted and really hasn't been acknowledged or appreciated by the music industry or radio the way she should be. It makes me angry because she is one of the few artists around today who truly has talent and not just some good PR people pushing her face onto every magazine cover. As Garth said, Trisha truly just sells the music. I hope there's no hard feelings and, like you, I hope someday to see her with just her band because I am very greedy and I want to hear songs that we didn't hear that night.

Hi again Carol Ann:)
No hard feelings at all:)
I knew when I posted it wouldn't be very popular but then again I wanted to be truthful to my own feelings, if you know what I mean?

I don't know about you but I think the attitude or should I say the demeanor of the people sitting around you at a concert has alot to do with how much fun you have yourself, if this makes any sense?
I can't stand it when people don't as much as a tap their feet, if you know what I mean.....they sit there like they're at church or something...that just erks me to no end. Well, that's how the people were that night. God forbid if you let out a WOOHOO or someething....they look at you like you have 3 heads or something:rolleyes:
Anyway sometimes I just think that if you're around a livlier bunch, it makes for a better time!

Anyway it was pretty cute before the show started there were these two ladies behind us talking about Garth....that maybe Trisha would tell him how much she enjoyed it here at Casino Rama and he'd come and play here.I had to chuckle to myself
Then when Trisha was being given all those gifts from the fans, one lady behind me made a statement about Garth getting jealous when she comes home...hehe.

Well, hopefully she comes back to play here again....and maybe she could bring along a special guest for a few duets;)

Hey Susan,

Glad to see there's no hard feelings and I know what you mean about the crowd. As I had mentioned to you before, on the show for the 18th it was an older crowd and there wasn't a lot of WOOOHOOOING going on, let me tell you. I do think the crowd and their reaction has an influence on the artist one way or the other. Based on the crowd from the 18th I did find the 19th crowd livelier but I thought there were certain points she should have gotten a standing ovation and she didn't. I think Canadians, in general, are a little too reserved LOL. I was really hoping she was going to be surprised on stage on her birthday but after thinking about it I knew deep down it wouldn't happen mainly because if he'd shown up on stage he wouldn't have been able to leave without singing and I guess, right now, he doesn't want to do that. I am glad about the seven dozen roses though because I think she deserves to have a man treat her special, the way he does.

AND all of you GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!!!

I can't stand it when people don't as much as a tap their feet, if you know what I mean.....they sit there like they're at church or something... Susan! God forbid! What ever gave you the idea church is so boring??? Not mine. At The Grace Place we celebrate grace. As in, "party". Get it? :)
