Hi!

Well, Maddy´s very curious lately! So here´s the next question.

I heard about a song named "Desperado" which is sung by our lovely boy. As always he sings with sooo much love and passion.

Well, my question´s just simple and I´m sure you´ll answer at best as always. :)

Where did he sang it? Is it on any album? What´s the story behind it? Does "Desperado" have a special meaning for Garth? I mean he named a horse in one of his songs Desperado.
And could someone put the lyrics here? Or could you tell me who sang it first (If there was another)?

Thanks a lot!

Huggs!

Here's the lyrics for Desperado,Miss Maddy...

Eagles
Desperado

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don' you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of heats is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no youger
Your pain and your hunger, they're drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're loosin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late

The Eagles were a popular group when I (and Garth) were younger, seems like they have been around forever. Maybe someone else will help you with the rest of your questions because I can't :D !

Smiles!
Leelee

Clint Black also recorded Desperado, but I have never heard Garth sing it.

Clint cut it for that Eagles tribute project country artists did several years ago... Travis Tritt I remember had a great cut (and video) for "Take It Easy."

I don't remember hearing Garth do Desparado, or any other cut on that album. . .

Well, thank you to everybody for all your help.

Miss Maddy is very glad to read the lyrics, Miss LeeLee! :D

Well, Maddy has been a bad girl. She downloaded this song to find out, what it is about. And finally she listened very carefully.
And Maddy has to appologize. This guy singing it has a good voice and sings it with lots of emotions, but it ain´t our lovely Garth.

Can you all forgive me one day? You for the confusion and Garth for the defamation??? P-L-E-A-Z-E ! ! !

:)

Doesn't Garth sing Tequila Sunrise on Hungry Years? I love Desparado though. It fits him too. :)

Dale - :)

This place went the way of the Dodo IMHO, so I only check to see if there are any news on GB.

A shame - but that's the way it is.

Say, isn't that a song by Bruce Hornsby? Or maybe that guy who sings about "Sailing" not too far away from paradise?
