Country music fans in the New York City area suffered a terrible blow recently when our country music radio station changed formats. Y107 was the only country music station in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut region. We need any help you can offer us. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please reply to this post, or join our Yahoo group:

New Country Y107 (WYNY) Fan Club

I am also writing to ask country fans in the effected area to sign this on-line petition:

Thank you for your time, and God bless country music!

Great idea! :)
I signed the petition and will help spread the word!

People that chase after their dreams, move mountains!
Keep up the good work... bring 'Country' back to New York!

isn't that a radio station that broadcasted through the net and had this thing called catch of the day? if so, it SUCKS it was taken off the air...

That's a rather "RUDE" thing to say to a new member that just joined here!
Actually, Paula posted about Y107 in another post ...
when they went off the air they played "The Dance" as their last song...
and the radio station was purchased by a different company...
It was the only country station still active in the New York City area...and I believe NJ and Conn. also.

Diane, I think you should re-read AngelTrisha9's post. She didn't say the station was terrible...she said the fact they took it off the air was terrible.

:o Oooooopppps!
I'm sorry Angeltrisha for thinking you were rude! :o
I mis-read your post and meaning...
I thought you meant the radio station sucked.

Thanks Paula for clearing that up... sorry :o

- Actually, Big City Radio, the company that owned Y107, decided to switch to another format.

- Yes, it was the station that did the catch of the day, and it does suck!!!

Thank you for your replies, and please spread the word about the petition if you live in the effected area (New York/New Jersey/Connecticut). I miss country radio ;o(

Hiya Sunshyn!

Great to see a new member!

Well, that is weird about your country station. But hey, now we have at least one thing in common. We sit in the same boat!!!! I don't get a country station here, I only can listen 3 hours country a WEEK!!!!!
And that is too late for my taste, so I often don't turn my radio on.
