My Faith Will Stay With You

Didn't know just what to think
when i heard what had been said,

didn't see it coming either till
it slapped me upside the head,

At first i wandered 'round awhile
my heart was broke in two,

but then i came full circle,
and my faith will stay with you.

my faith will stay with you
cos i didn't hear you say it,

i swore my love until the end
til you tell you don't want it,

but aint that what faith is all about?
You don't know until it's tested,

so until then, this flame still burns
and in my soul, my heart still yearns

And in the end who knows what may come,
but my faith will stay with you.

Hey little!

Great lyrics!

What about the melody / chords!

I would say play it on C-Dur, if you don't mind...

Is this song already recorded on CD lol

Take care!

good lyrics.

hey why did yu change style in the m iddle of the song? seams to me the first is Iamic, and then you go to free verse? Also, your using two line stanza's through the whold thing, sound like it would read better in four! (just me)

I like the line "my faith will stay with you" very intresting substatute for love. Works nicely!

Plese dont think i'm cutting you down or anything, i do like it!

my one question is time? it's obveouse that the voice is speaking oabout a love that ended, maby theres a way to prefece the time? was it written the day after the love left? or years?

countrypoet,

:) feel free anytime to ask questions, i don't mind at all.

i'm not schooled in poetry or nothin, usually something happens and the words come spilling out. when i sit down and try to write something, it usually is very hard and i don't get much down.

um, what does lamic mean?

acutally orginally it WAS written in 4 line verse, and i think it sounds better the original way too.

i like cowboy poetry (alot) and unfortunetly, was told that i shouldn't write everything in 4 line verse, so i tried not to, but it don't work for me.

to nab a line from McGraw, "guess it's just the cowboy in me" :o

as far as the time, i wanted it to remain kinda timeless cos love and faith are timeless.

it's actually about a love that may have ended. The person in the song has found out the is someone else involved in the relationship, doesn't understand what has happened, but ain't just gonna say, "that's it we thru" becos of what they were told. But at the same time, this person's faith has been very shaken, and right now faith is all they have to hold on to becos they don't know what is on the other person's mind (or heart) and they need the person they are in love with to tell them yay or nay.

if that makes any sense :o
