Houston Rodeo

Destiny's Child and Mary J. Blige have joined the lineup for the 2002 Houston Rodeo, which runs from February 12th through March 3rd.



Um...WHAT? I understand like rock (i.e. CCR) at Rodeos...but Destiny's Child and Mary J. Blige??? Don't get me wrong--I like both artists (although Destiny's first CD is their best)...but at the Houston Rodeo???

I live in Houston and I can somewhat explain this.

Our rodeo has like heritage days. There is an African American day where the artist will be a black artist. Then we have tejano day where the artists will be tejano. We have always had a few rock stars come to. We have several great country artist. George Strait is closing out our rodeo this year. Which is so cool because it will be the very last show for the rodeo in the Astrodome. No more Houston rodeo performances in the Astrodome after this rodeo..:)

Oh I know that they're from Houston, it still doesn't make sense to me, though.
